With the new proposal, you'll receive a 2.68% increase for the rest of this year and a 1% increase year over year for the following two years, right?

The 1% COLA increase probably won't keep up with inflation but it is equal to ASA's 1% annual cost of living increase for the 4 year life of their contract but you'll at least have the chance to review your pay scale on an annual basis between now and 2010, right? Will the ASA pilot group have that same chance? The ASA pilot group's contract becomes amendable in another 4 years and then they can renegotiate that for another, what, FIVE YEARS after that if they follow their recent history. Sign me up for that ride, you bet.

Meanwhile, the ASA pilot, an employee of your sister carrier also owned by SkyWest Inc., will be making $.05 per hour more than you will over the course of the next three years. Quick Math: That's $150 over the course of the next three years. That's without taking into consideration the approximately (low estimate) $3,648.65 the ASA pilot will pay in ALPA Dues for the privilege of making that $.05 more per hour than you'll make.

That's if you fly the 50 seat airplane exclusively.

So if you vote "NO," you gonna go back and get that $.05/hour? How much more are you gonna get, do you think?

I don't think they have to wait until Delta / United merge. Flying is already being dumped in Salt Lake and LAX. And why are their 46 reserve lines in Denver? Yeah - something tells me they're a little overstocked in all departments. How much longer do you think they're going to allow folks to sit around making gaurantee without touching a plane all month?

To this day it still amazes me that some of the folks there have such a hardon for the place... I mean. It's a regional. ...and it's about to remind them.

Just wait until Delta and NWA announce their merger. I wouldn't be so cavalier about assuming you know what goes on here when the next sound you could hear is the sound of Memphis being shut down. . . . Oh, and the ASA profit sharing bonus program (not sure what they call it), that will pay about 75% of what the SkyWest pilots have had for the past three years, isn't it? ALPA, with all those high powered contract negotiating specialists advising the CNC was able to achieve 75% of what the SkyWest pilots have had for the last three years in just over FIVE YEARS of negotiating. Excellent work.

Meanwhile, SAPA has achieved a pay scale comprable to the ASA pay scale in 68 DAYS. Go figure.

Let's see, work for an airline that is constantly looking to maintain its longevity, and therefore job security, or work for an airline that is malcontent and dwindling away to Chapter 11 every day that passes by. I'll really think hard about that one. If you want more money, by all means, LEAVE and go get it wherever the hell you think it is. SkyWest has an unbeatable track record. But the ALPA chest-thumpers will hop right in and tell you the sky will fall it is only a matter of time. 36 years later, the sky is still right where it was to begin with. Hopefully I just saved this thread 4 pages of useless rhetoric from both camps, but then that would be like hoping American Idol will get cancelled this year.
