SkyWest is going to cover the China flying, too? Sweeeeeeet!

They would probably be the largest, most successfull regional airline in the world. Oh wait....nevermind.

Being the largest, or the most successful doesn't mean a thing if the employees aren't paid fairly. At least from the employees standpoint. But you are probably very happy with that little bitty raise they offered, and you will probably try to stuff the ballotbox with yes votes.

中国? 我 不 觉得 我们 有 中文 公司。我 喜欢 它。

Oh, the benefits of a union rhetoric again :( Using some of the logic we always hear, just think: if the numerous striking groups or bankrupt carriers were non-union, nobody would have lost a job, been furloughed or gone without a real paycheck in the past decade. Love the arguments, even when they're sustained by passion instead of truth.

We're paid fair, I just think we're worth more (not meaning to speak for others here).

Hey, if you're happy with what they offered, go ahead and vote yes. But don't bitch and moan about how they didn't offer you enough when you shot down your only hope for fair negotiations.

Brilliant move by SkyWest management to announce the pay plan just before announcing that they're taking over the Skyway flying.

Without even saying it, they've implied that if they vote no, they won't get the flying.

"Dude, that's a lot of upgrades. We better vote yeah, bro".

Trust me...leave the regionals anyway you can....you can fly a beechjet for as much as your flying a 53K lb. airplane...The majors may be a good goal to reach for but its still a crapshoot. I haven't been happier since leaving Comair over a year ago for charter work and then luckily on to NJA where first year pay is gonna be in the mid 80K range.

All this talk about 22/hr vs. CHQ 22.95/hr..or a dollar here and there or we got a 3% raise used to be what I thought about all the time along with every other regional guy. Then you find a great place to work and realize "my regional 4th year pay is a dollar more than yours" talk is all a joke.

Exactly. Run away from the regionals ASAP. The fracs are really stepping up to the plate as far as pay and benefits go. Much more stability offered at the fracs than at the airlines as well.

Remember that's what everyone said about the regionals 5-8 years ago. And where are we now? Even the fracs will eventually hit their learning curve.

Dispatch only gets 2% COLA as well. So, its not like management is low-balling you comapred to the rest of us.

The difference is NetJets is a great place to work and continues to get better, the regionals are not a good place to work and have not gotten better. Much safer than sitting at the bottome of a mainline list as well. To each their own though.

Consolidation, not growth, is happening at the airlines.

And 5 years ago, everyone said the sky's the limit at Comair...

The dynamics at NetJets are way different than any airline was or ever will be. Fuel costs are payed for by our customers, etc. It's a whole different ballgame and resembles nothing along the lines of an airline.

There is really no way you can compare the airlines with the fracs as far as long term viability, business models, etc.

Enough of that though....that's for another thread that's been beaten to death already on the fracs board. Back to Skywest.......

Did you fly that Beechjet out of southern Indiana, by chance?

No, I call making $130,000 a year unacceptable (OK, so I work a lot--but smartly)--not, but I do want more. You're dumb question is loaded, but I bet you couldn't put a finger on what WOULD rationally be fair--it's just easy to sound like a dork and join the 'it's not fair' crowd--talkin' about cool aid; I think you missed your chance to say we're flying 90-seaters for 50-seat pay. Your unfufilled need for identification certainly singles you out as more driven for affiliation of like-minded individuals than saying anything remotely critical.

I'm sure you're of the mindset, no doubt, RJ pilots should be making $200/hr; if only the economics supported it I'd be game, but you've got nothing to substantiate anything you say except to downplay what you don't like--an effective tactic if you ask me, if you're using the Chewbacca or rubber-glue defense.

You can have NetJets. NetJets and the airlines come from two very different economic models (as you state_--the NetJet guys should be making $400k/year [sic]. What you're making, is just not fair either...poor NetJets folks. Some things will never change, like why a NetJets guy is on the regional board (probably having lunch with General Lee later) or how people here like to bitch and downplay everything, without offering something tangible in return.

how much of a raise would we be getting right now if we had votes YES? that is, after the 1.9% we'd lose.

Oh, and the BHO REDUCTION is NOT a loss???? How about no COLA 1st year, No BHO 1st and 2nd year.

2nd year FO less than one half of a percent raise.

It takes 12 years to get 3%. Nice.

Absolutely joke of a COLA and THEN not effective until 09', while the rest of it effective yesterday!!!!

No QOL mentioned.

How about voting NO for once in your life, send it back to management.

It is a backwards leap of the cliffs of St. George.
