Dispatch only gets 2% COLA as well. So, its not like management is low-balling you comapred to the rest of us.

Did your group go almost 7 years without any COLA??
Doubt it...and I know inflation in SGU didn't come close to inflation costs in California!

We're worth what the market will bear. Skywest Inc. has determined what the market will bear in negotiations with the ALPA represented ASA pilot group. Skywest pilots have a Profit Sharing program that pays 25% more than the ASA program will AND, if approved, a comparable pay scale. In addition, the Skywest pilot's W-2 will reflect more at the end of the year than an ASA pilot's W-2 because of the work rules. All of the above without the 1.95% kicker the ALPA represented ASA pilot will get to deduct on their tax returns for the "gratuity" to ALPA. I know where I want to be.

I'll vote "YES" and go back to the table next year to discuss further adjustment to the scale if the market will bear it.

The ASA pilot will go back to the table in four years with the help of ALPA and negotiate for who knows how long.

I'm pretty sure "the market would bear" enough of an adjustment to at least keep us even with the COLA we didn't receive over the last almost 7 years(seeing as Skyw continues to be one of the most successful airlines around, they shouldn't be making extra profits by letting us slide backwards)!

Well, tell me how it worked out for the ASA pilot group with the assistance of ALPA. Let's see. Yep. There it is right there in their four year agreement. 1% per year COLA for the next three years.

What's your response?

The ASA ALPA pilot group went 6 years without any COLA.....

The ASA ALPA pilot group is now going to get a 1% COLA for each of the next 3 years...... Inflation is much higher than 1 %.......

In summary, the ASA ALPA group gets about a 3% COLA for 9 years.......The Cost of Living has increased around 20 % in that time......

Back to the Skywest sucks..... ALPA rules bitchfest.......

Fair and Balanced.......

If "the market would bear" it, how come ALPA didn't achieve it at ASA??

You have a point regarding COLA.... but ALPA hasn't achieved it either....

Gandalf,

Come on out. You're posting like crazy over there on the SAPAFORUMS. Why won't you play over here?

How about our COLA is 1% for next year and then another big 1% the year after...and I seem to recall you all got retro pay/signing bonus or whatever you want to call it for those 6 years of nothing?! We got nothing for the years that we waited with no COLA!!

He hasn't received his marching orders from Rez O Lewshun yet......

Our COLA is 1% with ALPA, and the "signing bonus" didn't even equal what we would have had if we were paid Skywest rates for those 6 years...... The ALPA Koolaid is thick....

Wait. Wait. Wait.

You guys got that RETRO PAY, right? You mean it wasn't worth that much in the long run?

That can't be true, can it?

It's true.....If we had just matched CMR rates when we started, we would have made more those 6 years...... In fact some of us advocated that.......

The "bonus" wasn't 100% retro, nor COLA.....

Be careful of the "spin zone".......

Unions are never perfect solutions, but your pilot group has shown that without collective bargaining you have LITTLE to show for your efforts. Zip.

Well, it's your bed and now you have to sleep in it...
Yep. I'll sleep on my pay scale pillow that's comparable to the ASA contract and my pillow will have another 1.95% in it. Goodnight.

i don't care about the non-union versus union argument. my question is, what did the skywest pilots give up for this?

Enough of the ALPA vs sapa tirade. Lets talk about what we have lost in the last 10 years. Get yo siht straight.......

We used to have 12 days off minimum. Now we have 10 days off minimum. Isn't that enough? PBS, sked minus, and even more fcukery while your a reservist. ready reserve, no seniority transparency, bucket system which destroys seniority. Oh hell do we really need to go on.

According to skynag and Vpecks we are blessed with BHO...wow....and a quick upgrade. Tis not worth it.

A pay raise to buy an extra tank of gas each week isn't even worth rolling out of bed for. I make more money sleeping in than taking this raise.

Get a clue sapa......we no you have no teeth just admit it and quit acting like you deserve your 105 hours credit for doing nothing but going to your kool-aid drum circles with all the reckless management types......:smash:

The only good news I have heard all month is that worthless secretary we had is finally been ousted. Praise the Lord.
