Time to get my CLICKER ready! Now when I'm in IAH and I see the crj700 "click, click, click" as I walk by the crew. I should just bring it out everytime I see a skyworst crew what am I thinking? CAL pilots will win this hands down!
Yuppypud,
If assigned I will fly to IAH all day and every day assigned, right up until UAL/CAL ALPA declares it struck work, at that point I will refuse to fly all defined struck work, and will in fact quit, not because I am worried about being labeled a scab, because its wrong! Hows that for a nonunion pilot you so love to spit at. I was willing to quit during the Comair strike over gauge increases in flying and in fact there were a bunch of us unwilling to fly ANY previous Comair city pairs. I find no small amount of irony that a pilot on a seniority list that most likely has had more ALPA defined scabs on it feels holy enough to lecture SKYW pilots, many who are hadrdcore unionists.
I will assure you now, I carry a PDF copy of the ALPA scab list, and it is easily searchable in real time, and if and when I fly into IAH, I will check every UAL/CAL jumpseater trying to catch a ride, if the name fits, they will be welcome to buy a seat in back because they will not get into my cockpit, for any reason.
I will ask you point blank, how many scabs have you flown with? and how many conversations and/or meals have you had with them?
PBR

Oh please not the "clicker", anything but the dredded clicker!

Please, please, don't even think about using the mighty clicker!

Ok, you can have all of our jets and we will leave Houston, just please don't use the clicker, that just cruel.

You win "hands down".

Are you kidding Yup, did you eat paint chips as a kid?

Well Gup, if the scuttling doesn't work you could always put the 145 training you have to use somewhere.

Not necessarily. The master list includes names of pilots involved in this exact sort of thing. Sometimes even in other countries. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong JohnP. In fact, if you care to take the time, consider contacting your reps and ask them to get some official guidance for your own pilot group on this. The start date will be here quickly and you don't want to get cought up in this. (doubt you will anyway) Your contract should include language that absolves you from being scheduled to do flying of this sort.

If CAL mgt thought they could do this legally they would have already cited or explained to us exactly what they thought constitued their right. They would have also included Republic, more than likely. but I don't think the Teamsters will need this explained to them.

Grow a pair jacktard. Walk. Show us all how big and strong your union is.
What? You'd rather Skywest pilots put their necks on the line for your weak a$$es? Figures.

Better yet why don't you sit there behind the keyboard and mouth off while your management ravages your taint. Again. Weak a$$.

We are going to take a stand.

Obviously we all know why CAL [UAL] mgt chose non-union Skywest to do this flying. To my recollection, Skywest has never done flying that was this obviously contrary to another pilot group's CBA. Is that correct?

Skywest pilots who decide to do this flying need to know this will be considered a scab operation. That is the plain and simple fact. The term scab get's thrown around on here a lot, but in this case, it's exactly what they will be.

It's up to you to enforce your own scope, not the SKW pilots to interpret or uphold it. This is going to get worked out between you and management either through your respective lawyers or the court system.

As for this being a scab operations, I don't think you understand the actual meaning of a scab. You obviously just make up your own definition to fit your opinions in the industry.

Just curious when is it up to Skywest pilots to fix the ridiculously low compensation that both your capts and especially your FO's take home?

After reading this the only people that seem upset about getting scope back is Skywest koolaid drinkers flying 70 and 90 seaters for crappy pay.

There is nothing to work out. CAL has it's own contract and it is fully in force. With CAL/UAL JCBA efforts now back to zero the issue is even less in flux. We are going to enforce our scope. Pilots who fly this will have to cross a picket line and it will be a scab operation. It is a 100% violation of a prevailing CBA.

There is no legal way for CAL[UAL] mgt to do this. Otherwise they would have included Republic. Or XJT would already have 70 seaters.

I can't believe the Skywest pilots can't see how perfectly CAL mgt is hanging them out to dry. This is a new low for Skywest

Edit: I've been in 3 labor unions as a pilot. I don't think the Skywest pilots know what's about to happen. An AFL-CIO CBA will have language that allieviates one labor union from performing work that is in violation of another union's work agreement.

How about this.

The majors get it in their contract that guarantees a job and class date to any regional pilot that walks off their job when asked to fly a route previously flown by the major. Talk about taking it back!

Unless there is mass hiring, how are you going to promise that?

I can't wait for ASA to start flying UAL 70 seaters out of IAH, CLE, and EWR just to watch Flopgut's head explode. Hey Flop, sounds like you and the UAL folks have some issues between the two groups. Maybe you need to worry about the UAL folks instead of worrying about Skywest.

If that could be done legally, XJT would already be doing it.... Proceed with caution Joe....

Proceed with caution? I'm shaking in my boots. I'm getting more excited about that new United Express flying with each post you make.
