hey the 170's are 2x2 seating!

I wondered about that. So will the braintrust switch them all out to 'Midwest Class' (gagging noises and laughing) before getting rid of them? I can't believe they started advertising for 'Midwest Class' no more than a week before they decided to go to 9 planes.

I'll be amazed if RAH ever sees their money again, and they'll probably get their planes dropped right back in their laps to boot; serves them right. Giving money to Midwest is like flushing it down the toilet. RAH must be desperate to sublease those planes. I think that if the pilots at Midwest don't play ball with the concessions the whole house of cards may fold before the E-170's can be transitioned to the Midwest certificate. I hope they file Chapter 11 so RAH, Skywest, TPG, NWA, Milwaukee County, the state of Wisconsin and everyone else who lent TH money gets what they deserve for trusting that fool. I hope the creditors take over the whole mess and liquidate it. It's time for Midwest to go to the great airline resting place in the sky.....RIP. I feel terrible for the employees but It's going to happen sooner or later so let's just get it done before the last ounce of dignity is stripped from the place. This profession has gone to hell in a handbasket.

Did anyone else notice that on the TMJ4 news report? The reporter showed video of CRJs taking off and landing and said that was replacing our aircraft. I think thats funny. I don't think this move will fare well with the hometown customers, especially the $15 for the first checked bag and $25 for each additional.

Getting furloughed in June was probably the best thing that happened to me now. At least I had the summer off.

If there is no Midwest, why would there be a Midwest Connect?

Midwest Connect will become a DCI carrier. Midwest is kaput. Anybody hanging around to see what is next and not looking for a real flying job deserves what they get.

Midwest was DOA on CH11 filing. What is happening is a de facto liquidation.

We'll get the money back, don't worry. BB never enters into a contract without looking down the road at a profit. Hell he probably knows that they're going to fold and he's going to get a piece of the pie while the getting is good. Everybody is getting fired up about 170's at Midwest, but they probably will never even touchdown in MKE to tell you the truth. At least that is what I think is going on.

I hope all the senior Captains who gave me crap about my support for the Airtran deal are happy now, specially now that they will end up on the street with the rest of us this time.

When I said on another thread that Midwest is being realigned some guys didn't agree with me, Midwest WILL become COMPASS, and eventually a connection service for the new Delta/NWA.

here is my quote from another thread:

Heavy Set, even though Midwest is furloughing it is NOT out of seniority, your info is wrong.

My initial post was, Midwest is being re-aligned, I didn't say anything about Midwest continuing to fly 717.

Peace and good luck to all.

Flywolf, you hit it on the head! Delta and Northwest have now created a new regional airline that will be flying E-170s out of Milwaukee. The name will eventually change from Midwest Connect to Delta Connection. Midwest will become a thing of the past and those remaining 9 717s will be retired at some point when the merger is done. My question to all Midwest pilots, is this not enough of a reason to pickup your picket signs and go out on strike tomorrow? Why allow the company two more weeks off your back? After Oct 1st, your leverage will be gone because Republic will be in place taking YOUR JOBS! For Midwest connect to go forward they need you to fly til the end of the month and then you are done! Why allow it, stop the madness now!

To all the Midwest pilots, I'm sorry for this injustice! Every mainline pilot better wake up! AirTran pilots, you better wake up and stop all that damn in fighting. This very well could be AirTran's path as well. Instead of E-170s it could be E-190s! It is time to UNITE and FIGHT for our profession and our jobs!

The only time it could become a "Delta Connection" carrier would be when any plane over 76 seats is gone. That means all of the 717s. If you then add the 12 E170s to the ticket, the amount of 76 seaters the new Delta would operate would get very close to the limit. There is a limit even on 76 seaters, and the merger of DL and NWA actually made the limit tighter, since both Majors already had a stream of them coming online, and a merger gets closer to that magical number. As far as the 717s go, I wouldn't be surprised if NWA goes after the 717s for a DC9 replacement. Remember, our certificates won't be merged for 12 months or so after the date of corporate closing, and Midwest is returning 16 of them at the end of this year. It will be interesting indeed. Sorry to the Midwest pilots.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Dude,
You must be reading my mind. I can see this happening at Airtran in the very near future. After the pilot group over there refuse the last contract offered by AAI management on 9/10 and they get released into the cooling off period, it is all over but the crying. You will see this exact deal at Airtran. I truly hope I am wrong. Time will tell. As a furloughed AAI pilot I hope it won't happen. There are a lot of good guys/gals there. I wish the Midwest folks the best.
