It will be a dark day when a Shuttlecraft gets to make fun of somebody for getting paid too little. I really hope that when Mesa enters negotiations again that they are still the bottom of the payscale, otherwise the whipsaw will continue even further.

ps I say that with the best intentions towards Mesa and their upcoming challenges, I know they want to get it right this time

Terrain seriously dude...that's not very nice. We are men and women just like you trying to make a living and hopefully someday retire.

Do you have any assurances in life period? NO...I'm not pitching this like I'm for it or not and I'm not going to post my opinions about it on an open Forum. You can call me and discuss anything you want about the proposal

Do you have a vote? (are you off probabtion?) Because I find it interesting that you are so vocal here on FI yet I recall not long ago you PM'ing me wanting a job.

It's interesting that you quoted me but maybe you should read my post about 5 times to emphasize the IF! And if you still don't get it, call me!

PSACPSP

Look back i also emphasized IF.

From what i know there are two assurances in life....sh....it...and die. But i am a little dissapointed with how we are being treated. PSA has been told we are number 1 for the past 5 months for all east coast carriers and that our Flight Crew delays are less than half for this time last year, but for whatever reason we are not worth a pay raise for flying larger airplanes. It is kinda sad that we can get all this praise for working hard, doing 7 leg days, on time performance etc and then not offer a dime more for the 900's.

I have been on reserve for the whole time that i have been here. When i first interviewed they were talking about 8 month upgrades, more airplanes etc... I took all that with a grain of salt but really we can take only so much. When was the last time you made $360/week? All i ask is that you have some empathy for the F/O's. It is very difficult to make ends meet with the pay we make. I understand that we knew the pay before we got into this but never did any of us expect to be on reserve for a year or longer. If we had a line maybe we could make enough to eat. Unless you have sat reserve for over a year i don't think you could understand what it is like. I doubt the 900's have more to offer other than a larger airplane. I like working for PSA, I like the people i work with and the airplanes and maint is first class. But for me, i have reached my threshold. $360/week to fly a 900 in my mind is just insulting. If the company is wondering why moral is so low just look at what you are doing to us. Fly a 4 day worth 15hrs, spend 18hrs in an industrial park in Columbia, SC. Then walk 15 miles to a restaurant in XNA, and try feed your family on reserve salary. You are asking too much.

If that's the sentiment of the pilot group at large (which it seems to be) then ALL of us win, and you win big.

Gofish: Terrain can be harsh, so can I. He'll probably regret it tomorrow, as would I. I can't speak for his physical state when he wrote that, but when I gets "lickered up" and read some of the tripe on here and elsewhere I get furious and the posts get mean.

Another thing, too- we (PDT) have a tiny cadre of cheap shot artists that carry grudges over things that have long turned to dust, and some of the things they say TO EACH OTHER (anonymously, of course) are downright evil. Could be a bit of enculturation- who knows?

Fact is we can all let our imaginations run amok when times are tense and life is crap now and the outlook is mostly bleak with a slight chance of demise. That's about as perfect a scenario as the bean counters could hope for- erosion from within.

Just don't play into it.

Slight chance of demise? An optimist are we?;)

Seriously though. With the Dashes wearing out, new props are needed. WHEN they come, if they go to an airline other than us, we all might as well set the brake, go home, and drink our last paycheck.

Just to set he record straight...Surf or whomever... These are our payrates for the 700 effective 10/06. In addition....by this time next year add 2.00 to each year. By 2009. Add 4.00 to each year. Not the best...but definately higher than mesa. In fact if you care to look. The current book 10/06 is higher then Skywest, Comair, Gojets, TSA, and surprisingly higher than Air Wisconsin's 200 rates. Seeing as how we have a majority of 200's it's skewered that way.

Truth of the matter, basically the payrates are about market rates for the middle of the road bottom feeders. And well look at AWA history. Pretty much bottom pay for their entire life, and done things very much on the cheap. And now you think PSA is going to get industry leading or mainline similar pay rates??? I wish they could or would, Reality....that's a different story.
I hope it gets voted down. I hope it gets voted in....In truthfullness i could give a ******************** less.
what I'm tired of is, the outsiders coming in and spewing their dang all knowing knowledge and holier than thou attitudes, and some of you have listed 1500 or less hours. Give me a frigen break. It's easy to sit on the side line and say how tough you are, and how your'd vote this and tell mgmnt to do that. But untill it's in your plate you'll never know. THAT is what my posts have been about. Support the PSA group. What you have basically done is call them out to be bottom feeders and ho's before anything has been time, and on the other side they have Mgmt whispering of shutdowns, airplanes going away, blah blahblah. If they vote them in, and then you feel like they've done wrong, then fine....you have your time.

Hell hyprocrosy at it's best. A Gulfstream Graduate, who fast tracked to Pinnacle, telling PSA to hold the line, so as to not lower the bar. WTF?????? Didn't you learn the first time???

For the PSA F/O, I'm sorry, F/O pay sucks, sucks sucks. But not just here. Just about anywhere. A few exceptions, but for the most part, those that came before you, screwed you. And complaining about 1yr reserve?? Try 10+ my friend. In much ********************tier conditions than what is here. Here is a cake walk compared to other situations...

For those wallowing about the 900 belongs on ML.. yeah it's true, BUT The mainlines gave 'em up.....and in effect voted my ********************ing job out the window, (going on 5 yrs now) to save their own dang ass. So don't give me the ********************. Unemployed for the majority of those 5 as we watched the majority of you, licking your chops to see those jets come down and give you your growth and upgrades, and did it on the cheap, to get to that Mainline job. Or UPS/FDX/B6/SWA/Airtran...whatever. Problem is now your realizing the drug isn't as effective anymore and there's only so many of those higher spots available. Your looking at making 80's or so, and your life is geared around that, questioning if you can start over at 25/hr 1st yr pay. back to the bottom, paying your dues. This regional gig might not be so bad, but heck we gotta get the pay up now, and QOL issues, etc etc.... Well all of you contractors (exception of PDT) Have sucked off the tit of the ML's and gotten big and fat, whereas these two WO's have withered and struggled to keep their 35 a/c. Compared to how many hundreds at RAH, MAG, etc...

And to top it off, In all of this crap. This is the FIRST time I'll have a chance to vote, or have any say what so ever in any of this crap that has effected the direction of where my career has gone. You can bet your ass I'm not going to let some kid who was prob. in middle school or elementary when I started in this profession with the airlines (not a long time but comparatively it's mid life crisis I guess) talk crap to me, or the others here, regarding this situation we are figuring out.

and if you don't like my spelling, tough ********************.

Ok Rant off.....

Smurf here ya go....

You will still be a click below Mesa if this TA passes!!! How you like them apples? You can sugar coat it all you want..... If this passes you will now take the place of Mesa as the bottom feeders!!!! And you have basically screwed everyone in the industry.... Funny Management is offering you folks nothing... And you are jumping around happy like a bunch of idiots...
Has anyone read "Flying the Line".... Wake up!!!! Hello!!!!!!

The only ones I see jumping around like idiots are the ones on here that have no say in this matter. The 900 TA will most likely be voted down and then we'll see what managements next move is. If PDT is given the same offer you guys will vote it down too right, we'll see. To place PSA in the same class as Mesa is an insult. They are buy far the worst sh3tbag operation out there. Where do I start? uniforms, what uniforms, I've seen them wearing varies shades of navy, black, brown. Radio calls, is english even a requirement to get hired there. Flying ability, do they know how to level off without pulling negative g's. The FA's need I say more. The vast majority of PSA guys/gals that I have had the pleasure to fly with are all true professionals. Alot of the newer pilots here were told of quick upgrades and lots of growth, things kinda slowed down and now they have management dangling that big ole 900 carat in front of us. Hopefully they will listen to the older guys that have seen this before and not take the bait just yet. Show us the money.

screw you!! its time for a revolution to begin. It's time for PSA to vote in those 900s! Screw all of you who try to insult them! You not in their shoes you losers! Heres to PSA guys with enough Bal*s to vote for the future! viva la resistance to pricks!

20 yrs ago today T.K got the taste for shafting pilots...has he changed?

So much bashing of the other guy's airline going on. We (well, not me anymore) all do exactly the same job. Why is no one angry at the system that lets management get away with playing one group off against the other (and especially playing one whole company off against another)? Do we let this continue until all the FO's are dreaming of the day they can afford a double-wide? or not share an apartment with 5 other guys? The pay rates are insulting - a topped out FO making less than 40k a year to fly a 90 (or 70) seat aircraft?? Unbelievable!!

Maybe the DCI companies are on the right track.. they at least are talking to each other about not getting used at patsies, we will see if something comes of it.

Spoken like a true dumb sh$t!!!
Mesa voted for growth, and they were all excited...... 3 years later they are still bitching about QOL and Pay!!! The same will happen at PSA..... New airplanes hit the property.... wow CRJ900... wow, mom and dad I am big airline pilot making 20k a year to fly a mainline size airplane!!!
2 Years from now.. PSA folks will be on here bitchin again about pay and qol... Its just an endless cycle.... The WO's used to be a great place to come and work.... They for the most part had better work rules and pay then most.. Those days seem to going away!!!

Vote it down...

Just to clarify, Surf, what you quoted wasn't by surf'nfly but by newman.

Anyways, ya, they USED to be a nice place to work. so what's happened? Contractors, flying for less. What's the combination of being a nice place to work? Usually what your paycheck is at the end of the day, And your quality of life, These two things come with being paid what the market can bear, maybe a little more. And usually the QOL comes with Bigger Fleet. Here comes Mesa, etc al. Fee for departure blah blah blah. They suck off the tit of ML and are like a bunch of roaches.

BravoWhisky is exactly right. Which I've also been saying. You are asking individual carriers to make a stand (union wise) While the national does absolutely nothing. What guidance, planning, long term vision they have for labor relations. All I see is, lets keep the dues money up as much as possible. and try to build contracts via stepping stones.
The Pay for departure task force???? WTF...should have been done 10 yrs ago. What the DCI companies have started doing, (which I think is the main part of why the Task force was formed anyways but different story) should have been done on DAY one the whipsaw was sharpened. The individuals are already brainwashed, that ....fly for the lower pay, it's just a stepping stone, You'll get your 1000hrs and move on. You must supplement low ticket prices and 10,000,000 bonuses for mgmtn by working for nothing.....
