1500 / 800

Haven't read much in the news recently about "the 1500 hour requirement" many keep referring to. Here's a blurb from March, 2010:

3-From The Buffalo News, City & Region, Sunday March 13, 2010, “Under the Schumer compromise, the FAA will have to set an 800-hour flight requirement for copilots by the end of next year. Some of that experience would have to be in multiple-pilot environments and adverse weather including icing, as well as in other specific conditions. If the FAA fails to develop and implement those rules by the end of next year, new co-pilots automatically would be required to have 1,500 hours of experience in specific, rigorous conditions.”

Here is a good one. I heard that at JFK few hrs ago.

Mesa is buying PSA and Piedmont as soon as they come out of BK for 45 million and 5 year extension on their 900s.

Yep, and Mesa will order 100 Q400's and ask us to fly them at our 100's rates. :-)

I hope that PSA get's the CRJ-900s so that there may be better service. Mesa service is pretty bad. Actually, it's hard to have good service when there's no crew to man the airplane.

More BS. What are you talking about? Mesa has a nearly 100% competion factor on the 900's and it's A-14 is in the 90% range.

Yes, Mesa has its challenges but please don't come on here and just make up stories. Mesa has plenty of crews on the 900's and its been months since we took a crew cancel.

Please get you facts right.

Aww.. Aren't you just adorable when you get angry and start talking airplanes and stuff...

You have a nearly "100% completion factor" b/c if you don't complete you don't get paid. I've seen/heard Mesa crews go into places and in conditions I wouldn't send my dog.

Gojet F.As are voted the best since they come from mainline experience.
What?!?!?! In what poll? 90% of us are "mainline experienced" in this day and age...Guess we furloughs from elsewhere didn't get the memo to advance our careers at GoJet! Damn...I simply MUST start reading all my email.

"Hi, I am a very rich and important man in St Louis. I need you to clear some money for me. Please send me your bank account information and I will cut you in on 10% of it...oh, also, please sacrifice your dignity, professional advancement and all hope of personal pride."

Fact; Airways has issued an RFP for 25 CRJ900's, to replace MESA's 900's sometime in 2012.

Fact; MESA was not invited to the bidding process. I do know that AWAC, PDT and PSA were.

This is straight from our DO. Not rumor. Fact.

Sorry to burst your bubble, rene. But MESA does, in fact, suck. But thanks for playing anyway. NOT!

Peace.

Rekks

EDIT: I know MESA has 38 airframes. Why only a bid for 25, you may ask? Answer-to bring the 'large/small jet' fleet numbers into alignment with the Airways' pilot's scope.

Usair will not exist at 2012 are you kidding me.

New name will be USWEST with MESA having 25% equity.

Sounds like your DO is trying to make you to accept those blended 900 rates that undercut Mesa and AWA.....

Just like you did in the past with PDT, ALG

PSA will be sold

I don't think he works for PSA as they haven't had a DO since May 14.

MESA just got a 3 year extension on 38 900's

pay attention on the news coming friday.

Friday came and went.....
Oh you mean next friday!

Why don't you ask someone in the crew room above burger king?

Is it no longer a hazmat containment zone?

The drool problem was so severe that they ran out of squeegees and cordoned that place off for like 3 weeks.

Besides, some of us know how to fly at airports other than CLT

Hey did you guys vote on whether a 28% increase in airplane size warranted a 3% raise in pay?

Not like Mesa did anyone in this industry any favors....maybe they will when the door close.

You are right, however Florida Gulf/ Mesa was never pay to play or better known PFT.

PSA was, ask your senior captains. Ask your senior captains what they did with the j41 and trans states, ALG, PDT.....jet 4 jobs..........very selfish group without Freedom Airlines as an Alter Ego....I love to see Airways starting another NEW start up wholly own, let see how many knee pads PSA pilots will order for use.....

Learn first and then talk.........

Lets see. I just relate info as my friends over at CLT telling me.....time will tell I guess.

Your BLENDED rates are cheaper than MESA....learn how to analyze, and tell that to your Neg Com. They got punked by management.

It all to confusing for me to get into it. The 900's maybe a little low but then it brings up the 200/700 pay.
Our pay people at HQ, would never in a billion years be able to keep track of who flys what and when. We would be forever chasing $$$ that they screw up. The blended rate makes it much easier for both the pilots and payroll dept.

Take a look at Mesa vs PSA pay.

Show me where Mesa's pay rates are higher?
And compare the 900 at Mesa to the 700 at PSA. Still better at PSA.

2003 March rates with freedump over your head will do that to you. Ask Trans States MEC.

Last time I check to day is 2010.........wake up

and tell that to PSA's MEC, wake up isy 2010

adios

Hey Mr. Mainline why don't you put your energy into recapturing this flying for your seniority list instead of dumping all over every Mesa, Air Wisconsin, Republic, Colgan, Trans States, PSA, and Piedmont thread?
