"Oh, and I agree with you that seniority is king when it comes to upgrade. Those hired first, upgrade first. Simple!"

Not a single SWA pilot has ever by passed up-grade in the past ten years?
I understand they used to have to upgrade when their seniority number came around but every single person on the seniority list has upgraded as soon as their seniority could hold the seat?

I'm not sure what you're asking, but until the last cba, you had no choice. When your number came up, you passed upgrade training or you were gone.

You certainly didn't upgrade before those hired before you, unless you were in a junior domicile, in which case the senior guy could've/would've upgraded before you by moving to the junior domicile.

In the last 18 months, we've had the ability to bypass, but I doubt anyone has.

Really? It's industry standard. Isn't that wayat AT?

Yes it is. Upgrade is seniority based at AT just like everywhere else. But if you're implying what I think you are, you might be disappointed with the SLI.

I've been on Flightinfo since 1996. I didn't join because I have one "issue" unlike many others on here now. There are waaay too many guys on here talking smack about my AirTran brothers to just ignore.

You guys who suggest that I should be an FO since I own a business are pretty funny. . . . Didn't realize we had so many socialists in this industry. . . . Maybe everyone with a military pension should stay FO . . . . Maybe guys who kept their first wife should stay FO's and make way for the guys who have ex-wives and child support payments. Maybe the guys with the messiest lives, biggest mortgages or worst credit scores should get preference at upgrade.

I think you should be an FO because your flying skills are about as low as your credit score. Take that moron!:crying:

I think what he is implying is that if you think your seniority at AT with less longevity than a SWA guy means something, then you might be the one that is disappointed with the SLI. All we really expect is that you be realistic with your expectations. Just as you think a staple is unrealistic (which I, for one, agree), so do we think that relative seniority (which you espouse, and which would actually be damaging to a SWA pilots career) is unrealistic, to the extreme. Maybe you don't think so, but we will fight tooth and nail to prove you wrong. I'm a friend of Tri's, and I'm pretty sure that's what he's implying - and he's pretty much spot on as to the SWA guys feelings on your "relative dreams". If that's what your implying.

Fraternally,
PapaWoody

I would expect your NC to fight tooth and nail for the best deal possible for their members. Just like I expect our MC to do the same for us. That's why I thing it will end up in arbitration. It's going to take neutral, objective outsiders to determine what is "realistic".

I hope it goes to arbitration. What does that tell you???

So do I. After speaking with Tom W. I feel real good about arbitration and what will come afterward.

Real cute. Doesn't work. Good luck.

I wasn't implying anything. Ty went off on a rant when I said that if I were in his shoes, I would either stay mega senior in the right seat, or more likely quit, which I would.

I assumed that his rant about socialism etc, meant that he thought that the seniority system was OK, and I agreed with him. No implication. Those hired first get to upgrade first.

You guys are wound a little too tight.....

"those hired first should upgrade first"...tripower

So you're saying all the tranny caps that have a hire date at AirTran that's after the most junior SW cap should lose their seats? Is that what you're saying mr tripower?

Geez you guys are dense.....

Read what I wrote. That's what I meant.

For a bunch of folks that just got a huge career boost, in every imaginable way, regardless of the outcome, you FI AT guys seem pretty angry.

He just asked a question...Geez, who pissed on your cornflakes?

BTW it was a simple question and you still didn't answer it.

What will come afterward ..... ? You will be at the bottom of a very long seniority list. Just like you are now.

Nobody pissed on my cornflakes, and I did answer his question.

Lighten up. Your career is about to get a lot better. Enjoy it.

Seriously? Why don't I just give you my SS# and mothers maiden name also?

You know I wasn't asking for that. I was looking for a general "lie" that was within a year or so. I'm just trying to understand your anger and hostility.

Gup

And you'll still be flying your turboprop. Enjoy.

Gup, I'm not the least bit angry. Quite the laid back, easy going type actually. Don't mistake my responses to the offhanded innuendo being spread by some of your supposed coworkers as hostility.

I am far from the bottom. Why is it cute? I like what he had to say enough said. Sorry you AAI guys dont see it. I feel like arbitration will work out just fine for us. One way or another. -9 I see you still have that idiotic tag. Didnt you read what your EX CEO was saying about AAI? It wasnt looking to good for your career progression. Its amazing they allow some of you to fly planes. Then again some of you just sit at home. I need to saty away again. Just the same AAI guys spewing their same garbage. To blind to see the forest for the trees! You guys read to much into things. Ill say it again. I like our position if it goes to arbitration. Why is it so hard for trannies to understand? Some of us are fine with arbitration. Why shouldnt we be?

The same could easily be said about a lot of the supposed WN pilots that post here.

I like our position if it goes to arbitration.

Me too, and I have a feeling thats where we'll end up. Some will be happy with the outcome, some will not and we'll all move on.

See, we agree on something.
