It's not an attitude, it's a difference of opinion.
Nope. It's an attitude. Whether you'll admit it or not, you guys have the opportunity to get one of the most sought after airline jobs in the world, without jumping through the hoops that every other SW pilot had to jump through, and 1000's of other pilots would love to jump through right now. Many of you guys here on FI are treating it as if you're getting hosed, and that WE are the enemy, when frankly, we have far more to lose than you do.
See the above responses to my innocuous post to Ty. Yours included.
You said that you're "aware that things change". I'm aware of that also. Things like CBA's change every few years, guaranteed. Seniority, not so much.
My seniority was certainly not forever. I, like most airline pilots, started at the bottom of the list every time I started over.
What happens in a few years when SWA buys Alaska and you guys take a pay cut. I'm not saying it's definitely going to happen, but knowing this biz it's certainly possible.
Who knows? What happens in a few months when GH get fenced in to wither on the vine? What happens when an arbitrator comes up with a completely arbitrary "solution", that you don't like? What happens when you lose your captain seat?
Not saying any of this is gonna happen, "but knowing this biz it's certainly possible."
You can "what if" all you want.
The fact is that SW has been consistently profitable since the early '70's and you are gonna reap huge benefits by being part of it, as have all the VJ/AT guys that left to come here over the years. It's a big career step up for the AT guys, regardless of where you end up on the list.
Don't take this crap seriously, it's FI for Christ sake.
I haven't taken anything on FI seriously since I joined to get the answers to a certain home study exam years ago.
The SLI will be taken care of by the NCs.
