Unless this is fixed, it looks like mgmt did a good thing with the Global orders-

G650 Won't Spread Its Wings at Aspen Airport

"Despite initially approving the operation of Gulfstream’s new flagship G650 at Colorado’s Aspen-Pitkin County Airport when it enters service, officials there have reversed their decision after a citizen’s group pointed out that the wingspan of the ultra-long-range business jet exceeds the width limit set by local code and theFAA."

You'd be surprised at how quick a rule like this can get changed!

But, it certainly wouldn't hurt a G650 owner to slum it every now and then, say in a G-550, so they know how the other have lives.....

Well, Yes and no...

"The OEM lists the G650’s span as 93 feet, 8 inches, less than the airport’s 95-foot-span limit; including the reach of the winglets pushes the overall width to more than 99 feet."

Global 5000, XRS, and 6000 Wingspan: 94 ft.
Global 7000 and 8000 expected Wingspan: 104.3 ft.

I won't be surprised if another furlough happens, but I would be surprised if it happens before we are heavily into negotiations. A furlough now would be a big negative for sales after all the "good publicity" of the recent aircraft orders and waiting until they can use the threat to try to cram in a crappy new contract could scare up enough yes votes before they furlough anyway- concessions never prevented a furlough.

Not gonna work ...

The Union is issuing an audio tape on endless loop we are to listen to in our sleep ...

"... Concessions don't save jobs ... Concessions don't save jobs ... Concessions don't save jobs ... Concessions don't save jobs ... Concessions don't save jobs ... Concessions don't save jobs ... Concessions don't save jobs ... Concessions don't save jobs ... Concessions don't save Concessions don't save jobs ... jobs ...

I am at the bottom of the list and I would love for them to furlough me. With all of the training cycles coming up I don't see this happening. They will put the threat out there but it won't get the response they are looking for. Then again I could be wrong.

The suspense is killing me.
