For sure, I'm rethinking my usual procedure and I think I'll leave it off the charger. The plane starts so much better with the new coil. I just have a feeling it was an underperforming coil all along, if that is possible. As far as hand propping, standing behind the prop and hand propping a low compression engine on a J3 is one thing, standing underneath that big Trailblazer prop and pulling 186 fuel injected horses through is more than I can think about. I too have a jump starter battery pigtailed in. With that said, and maybe this should be a new thread, what is your hot start procedure? Hot start in cool weather at the fuel pump and true hot start in 90 degree weather?
