True Gret, but if you take the time to read what he wrote, it's right on. GL won't bother because he is an idiot.
I have a unique perspective on this as I was a Delta 767ER Capt until late 2007 when I was forced to retire. I work for NJ now (until Jan 16). There are a few like the Gen at Delta (and most other carriers, I suspect). Thankfully, they are in the minority. They think they got to Delta because they were better than everyone else. In reality, Delta made a mistake hiring them.

right on, sorry you're getting laid off.
I met my wife at a Buckhead disco and we danced all night all the way to bed.
Really? I am not seeing that.
Enjoy the Super 8. Hope they left a light on for ya.
I'm sure she loves you giving out information like this on a public message board.

Yeah, other than this one instance when she hit the sack with a guy she just met, she is pure as the driven snow!
Didn't he say she was rich? I think he "scored."
That's the Red Roof Inn I thought.I think Motel 6 leaves the light on.
And you weren't like that at Delta when you were there? Riight. A lot of the guys that retired just before BK were into themselves mainly. How do I know? I have several Delta pilots living near me, and they tell me that all the time. You just got caught at the wrong time, and now you get to feel what many junior pilots to you at Delta were feeling after 9-11. Welcome to juniority. It happened to me too at Tower Air, but now I am doing better than most legacy Captains.
has anyone pointed out to Lieutenant Lee that this time next year there will be 495 fewer Platinum Medallion members out there? This NJA furlough will pinch the airlines a little bit as well in fewer premium ticket sales.
Everyone at nja flies 100,000 miles/year on DL? Yikes!!!
Wasn't thinking about combining airline miles, and of course where your based has a lot to do with which airline you spend the most time on. A lot of the frequent flier status is gained on segments rather than miles. I had silver on DL nailed down in March for next year based on segments. Ended up gold based on miles. Went out on medical before I hit platinum. Doesn't matter anyway since I won't be flying any time soon.
Anyhow, my point is that El Generalmente acts like a gigantic baboon. I don't particularly have anything against the guy, in fact I figure he's got about the same sick sense of humor I have. It's just at times his Papio hamadryas behavior really shines through.
Yeah right... Keep dreaming.Well, we may lose some platinum medalian fliers (NJA pilots), but we will make it up with people that used to have Netjet Shares and now fly the airlines.

Actually, I'd guess that 80% of my trips are the very people you describe. I know you are wrong. Not really. Middle managers who used to fly day trips on you guys are now using us again. Only the top guys and very rich are flying fractionals now. You know I am right.
Bye Bye---General Lee
Yeah right... Keep dreaming.
NetJets has something Delta doesn't. Brand loyalty with the owners (or pax in your case). Delta is a commodity like bottles of water or popcorn. Your passengers fly the lowest fare. Not so with NetJets.

It's amazing the level of expertise that the General attains from reading two opinion articles.![]()
What I love is that you get to start and end your trips as a passenger on an airliner. No exclusiveness for you, nope. You get TSA security, and a middle seat to top it off. Gawd that must suck. I don't even do that, I sit in the cockpit, fly to Europe and back, and then go home in ATL. Pretty nice...........
And, you are losing passengers every day. You just cancelled your Hawker order, and you are parking fleets like the Encore. But hey, maybe everything is GREAT where you are....?????
