this summer is the the time line... will know in a few month or should say they might already know.... you know midwest ....

How can DOjets be more expensive than CRJs? There are at least 50 Do328 jets in ACA colors parked in Myrtle Beach. I bet Skyway could get them for a song.

... and this is just hear-say. the jets sitting down in myr for a while, on the beach, where there is a lot of salt water... ya get the point, lots of corrosion. some private company bought 3 of them, and went to have them brought up to date on inspections and see the repairs that they needed said they were POS'. i heard they called the company back that sold the planes to them and said they wanted their money back since they were in such bad shape.

plus when you are trying to buy them for 50 cents each... its hard for the company to sell them for this little. Plus i dont know what they look like on the inside, they would have to configure with 32 brown leather seats, cookie oven and whatnot... so midwest is trying to get them for free since they have to do so much to them, and the place does not want to seel them for nothing.

Doh!

.....

I think that Midwest is looking for a quality product and not the cheapest contract.....no-go for Mesa...Sorry

lets hope so on the no-go for mesa. and whoever they get (if anyone) if they dont have enough pilots, i hope they offer us some interviews

The leaseholder on those dorkjets sent them all to myrtle and is PRAYING for a CAT V hurricane to sweep them out to sea!!!

You can bet on getting preferential hiring if XJT gets the flying. We are very good about helping others out when needed. Just ask the Chicago Express, FLYI, Mesaba people who are here.

Where do YX/SYX expect to put these 50 seaters? A t-prop is the perfect plane for their WI/MI route structure. Jets are a waste of gas for those flights. Unless YX intends to continue farming out flights to SYX, 50 seaters just doughnut make any sense.

Back in the day when I worked for YX, I never nonreved mainline because it cost me $$. I could always fly SYX, AT or USairways for free. Sucks to have to pay to fly on your own airline.

Thats funny!

I wondered the same thing..

the letter from the ceo stated new routes, i believe the want to stretch out alittle more. The XR we have can pretty much tag any city in the US from MKE. Just my observation.

Expansion has always been very slow at YX

Good old D-52 is gunna get mighty cramped if you try and stick ERJ's out there in place of the beaches.

AWAC was giving Comair/Mesaba/Indy pref interviews in January/February

Know that ALOT of the Indy guys were not staying long and were giving all the instructors a HARD time in training...but in their defense, most of them have more time in the RJ than the guys in ATW teaching ground school!

That might have been the case in training ( I'm sure sitting in class had to be pretty painful)...but I have yet to fly with/meet one FlyI guy on-line that didn't have a good attitude about being here. This sense of entitlement is something I've yet to come across. I don't think I could have started over (gone back to f/o at another reg).

I'm sure you meant no harm by your comment, but I highly doubt that the fact that CoEx might offer preferential hiring ( which I'm pretty sure will happen by whoever steps in anyway ) will make any of the Skyway pilots reading this thread feel any better.

Plus...don't your planes already have pilots ?

Best of luck to all of you.

WTF does that even imply?

I dont know where you got the idea Express Jet has a chance? They wont be able to compete with any CRJ opperator, who can get the jets out of the desert at pennies on the dollar. Express is paying premium rates on their leases. Plus Wisconsin already has a MX facility in MKE. Big plus for them.

I dont know where you get the Idea XJT doesnt have a chance. Premium Rates? Wrong. Our XRs out perform the 50 seat CRJ also. Also our planes are ready to go, no pulling anything out of the desert for us. The simple truth is none us will know till it happens.

The press release I saw increased your rate payments by 200 points on those aircraft. That's certainly a "premium rate" IMO.

Ain't that the truth. And I just heard our official Minister of Information is no longer with AWAC so we can't even get the usual "when our leadership team has something official to announce you can be sure we will tell you." Gee thanks. That cleared up everything.

but i thought that your management already had plans for them, you and your buddies seemed pretty excited about a month ago?

You know that ERJ-XR gives me such wood. Sitting in that tube for 3+ hrs. God, I'm in ecstacy just thinking about it. Even up front, you can push the CLB button TWICE I tell you, TWICE!!

It's still an ERJ. It gives you 30 minutes of comfort over any CRJ, so that will amount to, at the outer limits, 2+00, before you want to pull your hair out. Now the ERJ pilot seats, there's a winner. About +45 of comfort!!

Not knocking XJET, but the "XR" is the poorman's E-Jet. Same range with half the comfort.

It will be interesting though. The less efficient, yet for once, lower acquisition cost CRJ vs. the more efficient ERJ from CoEx. I wonder if the 140 order would have any foreshadow...

Stay tuned and sit tight!!

By the time Uncle Hoolie parks all of our ERJ's @ TSA you'll be able to use those for the flying.

Considering we were the launch customer for the a/c we got them at a better rate than anyone else anyway. The 200 "basis point" only equals 2% increase in the lease rate.....which puts it very close to the other 50 seat operators.

According to our dir of ops voicemail we will be biding on a request for flying on 25 a/c for Midwest.

Just because it can, does not mean that it should. I cringe at the thought of riding on some of your routes.

The planes are going to be flying for somewhere in the system, be it for someone else or some routes of our own. I am not worried just curious as to the plans, because regardless of the usage a new base is coming for XJT.

And for those that say our lease rates are higher. Yes they are a little higher but they are still good rates.
