First of all, "tittyjet" Alexander Hamilton was the brains behind the formation of this here Republic. He was by far more influential than Jefferson.

I don't know where men like Hamilton would have taken the Article:1 Section: 8 Clause: 18 (the elastic clause) expansion of federal powers. But I do know this:

In Federalist# 1 he wrote: "a dangerous ambition more often lurks behind the specious mask of zeal for the rights of people, than under the forbidding appearance of zeal for the firmness and efficiency of government. History will teach us that the former has been a much more certain road to the introduction of despotism than the latter, and that of those men who have overturned the liberties of Republics the greatest number have begun their career by paying obsequious court to the people, commencing demagogues and ending tyrants!"

The more money and responsibility for our lives we give to government the less freedom we have.

I never wrote that he wasn't influential; I simply stated that he was a "fruit," which he was.

And, while I agree with your last statement regarding our freedom, I do think you need to reread your quote from Federalist #1.

The republicans have done a great job of marketing themselves while at the same time making it almost shameful to call oneself a democrat. Last time I checked I was a lot better off after 8 years of Clinton than I was after 8 years of Bush.

I know that will draw out the "well, you didn't have 9/11 back then" comments, so just save that. 9/11 was one moment in recent history that we had the entire world behind us and should have used that support to get bin Laden. What did Bush do? Dragged us into Iraq with no end in sight at a cost that could have been spent here at home helping OUR economy.

Now you have McCain, basically ensuring 4 more years of Bush style leadership, not to mention the fact that he's openly and adamantly anti labor and anti pilot.

Hey, vote for him if you like, just don't complain 4 years from now when your chosen industry is even further in the toilet and pilots from other countries are undercutting your pay and work rules, you'll only have yourself (and McCain) to thank...

Obama gets my vote.

Clinton had the chance to kill UBL at least twice and didn't have the balls to pull the trigger.

As for McCain v. this industry: the fight against Islamic radicalism is far more important to the future of our country, culture, and way of life than the welfare of the workers in any single industry, including this one.

After listening to Obama's ***** wife say publically that she's ONLY proud of her country since HER husband became a presidential candidate, I'm in the "anybody but Obama" camp. Even Hillary's starting to look acceptable. It seems that she has exposed the Obama for what he is, regardless on how his spin-meisters are going to explain it away.

I can think of no greater insult to those serving their country, especially in times of war. She has deeply insulted me personally. It's obvious that Obama's wife does not respect or share American ideals. It's ALL about her and her husband.

Nice misquote moron. Do some research before you rant- and stop taking O'Reilly's word for it.

This is a serious error. There is absolutely no way that a bunch of clowns can completely distract us from the daily tasks at hand of running this country.

We have been doing that the last 7 years, we took our eyes off the ball, and the country is disintegrating.

This is an egregious error in judgment. We are hollowing out our country and souls in pursuit of ghosts. It's time to refocus on our families and our lives before it is too late.

The neoconservative experiment is ended.

Sorry, I don't watch this O'Reilly guy like evidently you do . . I watched her speech. I did not quote her. I summarized how a rational and honest person would interpret her statement, and indeed what I think was truly in her heart. Every now and then, politicians let slip what they're really thinking. I think this was the case here. I think at least she was being honest, if not showing a direct disdain for America.

Now the Obama spin machine has to backtrack with a tortured explanation of what the politically correct version should be.

"What we have learned over this year is that hope is making a comeback. It is making a comeback. And let me tell you something -- for the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country. And not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change. And I have been desperate to see our country moving in that direction and just not feeling so alone in my frustration and disappointment. I've seen people who are hungry to be unified around some basic common issues, and it's made me proud."

Here is the direct quote for you and others who want to know the truth. She never said she was not proud. She said that she was "really proud" now. As in MORE proud than before.

This is an obvious slant from opponents of Obama who are grasping at straws. It is sad really, that this is the best you have..

Looking forward to November.

Read: "Alexander Hamilton" by Ron Chernow. Where in the eff do you get the "fruit" comment?!

My quote says he was more worried about populists than anyone else abridging liberties.

Clinton cut my active Navy job in the '90's when he cut the military by 50%. You know, because we didn't have any more wars to ever fight:( No enemies plotting to attack us or anything:( GO Dem's!!:( I only care about one thing though my airline union!!:( So I'm going to vote for a guy with no executive or leadership experience.....................

You can't possibly be dumb enough to believe that Bush doesn't know where that co--sucker is. He's known for years, but he's too much of a wimp to tell the Pakistani government that he's going to go in and get him.
