With the possibility of United hiring, I'm curious if reserves and line holders go much over guarantee at United? What kind of days off and credit could a mid-seniority lineholder on the 737 or Airbus have in ORD? Historically, has that been a pretty easy base to hold? Any other opinions/comments would be great too.

With PBS, a mid seniority lineholder would probably have his schedule built to near maximum hours, even if he wanted to fly less. The company has really figured out how to manipulate the system and get the maximum amount of work out of the least number of bodies.
ORD is a very junior base.

I was a 4 Feb 01 newhire.

From what I've heard, because I'm on Mil leave my bid is only a paper bid. So, the actual slot will go to someone actually attending the training. 2 for 1 deal I guess.

It sounds like at least one of the DCA 767 slots got filled by a lot of people. I'm in the 22 Jan class; 18Jun00 hire; DCA767; mil leave until summer 09 (or longer if I can stay on orders)

I am also in the Feb 5 class. I was hired Jan 21, 2001 and there are two of us from that initial hire class that also put 767 DCA at the top of the selection list for the Feb 5 recall class. So with no further info, I'd presume we also both got that assignment since we're on mil leave and thus it becomes a 4 for 1 deal. I'm sure there there are many more ML or LOA furloughees to make this stretch a lot further. There were over 100 call backs to fill the Feb 5 class.

I'll wait until I receive notification from the company to confirm my assignment. I'm sure Mr. Neal has his plate full, and it's not like I'm going to study 767 or airbus info now anyway.

Cheers.

What is the max line set at?

737 ORD was my assignment for Feb 5. I'm a 3/12/01 hire with a short LOA on the Feb 5th class. I'm junior (about 100 off the bottom of the whole list), but that was what I wanted for what was available.

Powda

Good to hear you got the right DOM, etc. That should also get you the best schedule.

I used to fly 737 ORD, now it's just the 300, right?

PB

It has been too quiet here since starting going up the list...how many more are left on it? Have they started calling for the second feb class...or a mar class yet? If it took 100 to get enough for that 1st feb class...the list could be gone rather soon.

For any UAL guys out there. What does UAL consider better, Turbo-prop PIC as a check airman or jet PIC. Have the option for both but want to become competive for UAL down the road. Thanks.

Neighbor 600 from the bottom when the music stopped

So, now that they are going "up the list", how far have they gone?

Called Bob Neil and he was told there are only 240 on bypass status below him and that a bunch of letters just went out so he would know more in a couple of weeks. He says he will be going back but would like to delay as long as possible. The three month leave of absense is no longer being granted since they are working the way up the list.

For us casual observers, what was Bob Neil's hire date?

I don't think they would make a distinction. I believe they have a category, or at least used to, for scheduled air carrier PIC time. Its just to get to the interview anyway. Once there, everyone is on a pretty even playing field. Just my opinion. Now, back to our regularly scheduled thread!
