PropBlast, congrats to you! Hope all goes well.

LeGarbage Man, it's been a long time since we have heard from you. Training completed? Give me a call.

GarbageMan,

Can you give a brief overview of what the schedule is like for A320 training. I know there is a lot of computer based training, but how many days do you sit in class, do CPT, Sim, etc. Is it realistic to make it home for the weekend now and again? My wife's boyfriend really wants to know how long I'll be gone !!

Scott

LaGarbage,

Go around flaps! That's funny. I'll drop you a line.

Flyiguy,

Thanks. Good luck with the new adventure!

Hey March guys...May waitee here...wondering the longest that anyone's waited to get the call from Verna. We've been sitting in Phase II now for 9wks+.

argh,

I interviewed on 7/14 and this wait is killing me. Just give me something to look forward to. It's like dating a hot girl, but over the internet.

take me out of the pool. got tired of swimming, so I'm off to feel the LUV start class August 2nd.
best of luck to the remaining poolies, and to everyone at jetblue.
for your reading pleasure:
interview at blue 3/9 phase 2 e-mail 3/15. verna FINALLY called 5/26.
interviewed at LUV 4/12 with no type. chief pilot called 5/17 with the GREAT news. went to higher power in june for the 737 type. type was june 25th. got the class date june 26th. used WIA money from the state of virginia. yes i am ex independence.
so my big question is why did it take jetblue 2 and half months to do my background check when LUV did it in a month?

Hey fellas. Hope the wade in the pool isn't killing your spirits. I finished A320 training in June and am now on reserve. Thought I'd put in my two cents on the training since you were asking about it.

Honestly, it was a harder than I thought it would be. I'm no rocket surgeon, and I knew it wouldn't be a breeze, but it was still a faster pace than I expected. Looking back now (now that I have a fat 90 hours of right seat time) I'm not sure what was so difficult. Just be prepared to work your ass off for your entire time there. Actually the first week not too strenuous. It's a lot of indoc/crm/company stuff to start with.

Most of us set up our own 'paper simulators' in our hotel rooms. Sitting in front of those, as well as the mock-ups at the training center, is invaluable. REPETITION, REPETITION, REPETITION.

Don't let this e-mail worry you too much. It's hard work but so far I'm loving the job. If anyone has any specific questions, please feel free to ask.

Good luck and hang in there.

One more thing - be sure to take some time out to enjoy the fine atmosphere on the patio down the street at The Ale House. Excellent drink specials during the week.
