Oh yes I forgot, Continental, FedEx, and UPS are hiring but I am not Mr. Military so FedEx is clearly out and I lack the 2000 PIC and 2 dozen recomendations that the other 2 would require anyway.

FedEx is not "clearly out" as you describe. Many, Many civilian only folks there.

The only question is do you know someone well enough to take you in for a meet and greet, grip and grin, or whatever goofy name they want to call the pre-interview interview.

2 dozen recommendations??? Very funny. Don't give up 'cause you may be one recommendation away from getting the call. Really!

Sorry to dissapoint you, but let's face it. PRICE RULES....There is no such thing as brand loyalty any more. Those days are kaput. I wish nobody in this biz bad will, there is enough of that going on here, but cash is king, and people are going to shop for the lowest fare, and bitch about it til they puke!

Let's charge more than $25 to go to BOS then.

They did and you've made money for now but those hedges are starting to expire. You may just find yourself in a different position in the future. Not that I would wish that on anyone, not even jerks like you that enjoy hardships of others.

Sorry to disappoint you but UAL has not failed. You may just be in for some competition that you didn't bargain for.

Hedges expire? = WRONG

Dude, we were talking about various cities SWA will serve in the future. I did not comment on Jet Blue losing money. I did not say anything about UAL. If you want me to I will, but I didn't. If you think the Southwest of today will be the Southwest of tomorrow, then you are wrong again.

I don't necessarily agree entirely with that statement. Sure for the backpack crowd and those using garbage bags for carry on's, yes.

Isn't it ironic though how people will spend $5 for a bottle of water, $4 dollars for a cheezy hot dog and $7 for a bag of those fancy nuts by the pound yet they whine about a $5 or $10 fare hike.

and my pension is intact (401k).

You consider your 401k a PENSION?!

I love you man!

Would you consider a ketchup packet a crew meal?

Why get a layover hotel? Those boarding lounges have mighty comfy chairs.

I heard you JBLU pilots are garbage pickers after the flight is done. That's awesome! Will you dump the lavs too?

Kudos for trying to get the FAR's changed to fly longer days too. The way I figure it, the extra revenue you generate for me flying over 8 hours will more than offset the cost of the occasional plane augering into the ground after the crew falls asleep.

I promise you. You and me. We're gonna be TIGHT!

Wow.

Do you have any idea what LUV is hedging? Do you think that the hedges are in Jet A? Do you know that Jet A doesn't trade on the futures market? Do you understand the term 'futures market?'

Never mind. I already know most of the answers.

How incredibly original. Yawn.

I predict at least 5 pages on this thread, mostly from guys who are going to be absolutely ecstatic about this news. Although, I should consider that it takes longer to type with one hand working the keyboard so it may take a long time to get to 5 pages.

You guessed it!!!! Who would have know there was this much hate thrown at anyone besides United. wow

u a.. h.oles I won 50 by taking the over on this thread + 7 I win dipshits

Super.....that proves you may need help....good luck with that. Hated...what an amazing way to get through life (or could that be jealousy???)

Yeah, but most pilots are just about willing to sell their first born just for a job with them (LCC's)

50 is 50. 2nd or 3rd post caled it, I tok it and u guys filled 7 pages of bets i got 50 bones. making money off of argueing retards. Schmucks

Yes, No, Yes, Yes....whats the problem Andy?

I was reading a copy of the WSJ this morning with my morning coffee when I noticed Dave Neelemans statement about fuel prices

Neeleman said Jetblue can expect to pay $1.98 per gallon in 2006. This is also be verified in their 2/1/06 SEC8K filing

http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/da...23/file002.htm

This is what UAL had to say.

On Jan 27, 2006 from UAL's 8K filing
The company expects mainline fuel price for the first quarter to average $1.92 per gallon, and for the full-year to average $1.81 per gallon (including taxes). Currently the company has no hedges in place for 2006.

Average mainline fuel price for the quarter (Q405) was $2.09 per gallon (including taxes).

This is the one I love
From UAL's 8K on Jan 17, 2006

United assumes a long-term crude oil price of $50 per barrel for 2006 to 2010, or an equivalent of jet fuel price of $1.48 per gallon (before hedging expenses). So
http://app.quotemedia.com/quotetools... D2%26num%3D29

I wrote this on the UAL page to drive my point home to those guys. I post it here because. Neelman and Jetblue stock are taking a direct hit this week. When Nelman has been nothing but honest and offers a realict fuel cost expectation of $1.98 for 2006

Yet Tilton and the folks over at UAL seem to think that number will be 17 cents less at $1.81 and people are jumping up and down about how great UAUA stock will be and that now is the right time for UAL to exit ch11.

I would much rather have Neelman running my airline.

That's not all you lack...

A spine, a brain, and the desire to work hard and advance your career come to mind. The nerve of an DAY carpetbagger calling LCC's names. Put your kneepads on and get back under Tony Romeo's desk....

You apparently don't know me in the least. I would be the last person anyone would consider a company man. And the fact I don't kiss the asses of the company moles (certain captains ) out on the line to get ahead here proves it! This company is for 3 types of pilots...1. The old guys who wouldn't be hired anywhere else 2. Guys with marks on their records 3. people like myself just building time in order to get the heck out of here at the first possible moment.

See I admit this place is just a stepping stone. The LCC pilots defend their QOL, workrules, and compensation as if it were glorious. When it could be so much more if not for the fact that they see fit to work for half of what they could so people can pay bus fare to fly coast to coast.
