Do you mind me asking what your interview time was and when were you called for the 10/19 class?
 
Got the call today from HR. I was asked a few basic questions. Including if I've had failed any check rides. I said yes, initial CFI practical back in 1995. They sent me an E-mail to explain what happened.
Could this mean another way of elimanation? Has anyone here has had to explain a failed check ride and still gotten a call for an interview?
I appreciate any info.

From what I've heard there's just an extra form you need to fill out and bring to the interview. Good luck! Here's hoping they're not done calling yet.
 
I failed my CFI initial, still got hired. everyone has a bad day. Own it no excuses. Tell them what went down and what you learned from it.

Same thing here, failed my CFI-I. Explained it on the form. Interviewed, hired and started class. During my exit interview they asked me to explain what happened. I told them and then one of the CPs told me how he busted his Comm ride. Make it a learining experience and don't place blame. You'll be fine and good luck.
 
We don't really hire pilots here at jetblue. We hire aviators with tallent.

That should have replaced happy jetting.
 
So Jet Blue hires "tallent" a non word or
talent:

a special natural ability or aptitude:

a capacity for achievement or success; ability:

Either way they sure do not hire based on a need for a command of the english langauge!

No I think they are filling classes for October at the moment. There are interviews scheduled for mid-Oct for pilots who applied during the Sept 1-10 window. Those peeps will probably see class dates Nov-March time frame. And calls have started to go out for interviews Mid-Oct, so make sure you check your voicemail!

More interview dates for November "coming soon" to and airline near you.
 
Otto, Did you see the AOPA article about the entire female DC-10 tanker crew. Article might interest you.

A buddy of mine got a call for an Oct. 13 interview 1:30P.M

I just got the call also. I was hoping I would be at the Mid Oct interview but unoffically, it looks like it will be Nov 9th. However, I have one more hoop to just through first. I did not pass the oral portion of my first captain pc in 2005. Passed the oral and sim two days later. Back on line four days after that. No other failures. It looks like others have had CFI failures and made it but has anyone had a 121 failure and still got hired?

Just be honest about any failures during the interview. People get hired with failures, the ones that don't are the ones that avoid the subject or lie about it.

Fill out the addendum when you get it, you should be fine.

The trend across the board these days is if you have a failure of a 121 check ride it will probably be a no go. I know of three people who didn't hired and the only common denominator was a failed 121 ride. I would just apply regardless
