Tip NYC in AA's direction? Ummmmm, maybe not. DL has 50% of LGA now, and JB doesn't have that many LGA slots. AA would gain a lot at JFK, but what would happen to AA's large new terminal at JFK? It isn't even close to the JB terminal. Would they sell that one?

No clue man. Delta makes Pax walk from terminal 1 to the MAT in LGA. Seems to work out for them. Yes I was reffering more so to the market share in JFK, but it wouldn't hurt AA's market share in LGA. Every little bit helps.

This is very true, but the pilot need at AA is a bit different now. Don't worry man this is just another FI rumor with a very timely retirement thrown in the mix.

This wasnt a retirement. There is more to this. They usually throw in a resigning to spend more time with family or something like that. This was an unexpected/sudden move. Wether it has to do with AA or not is a different story.

TWA received a 52% staple. The subsequent furloughs were in relation to 9-11. The Jetblue PEA states, and references M/B-A/M, that a majority will not be added to the bottom of another list. So while many complain about the TWA/AA merger without knowing the actual percentages the Jetblue PEA does very little to protect you any more.

The Jetblue pilots voted for this level, or lack of, protection.

It was actually closer to 56%, but then they also ratioed the rest from the BOTTOM up. Of those who were ratioed in, only about 30% are still on the property, so that was basically a no-cost item to the APA. You can try to spin it any way you want, but the AA/TWA integration remains the most lopsided and inequitable in the history of this industry.

Maybe this has to do with the impending 3A ruling? The requisite ELT departure would be necessary if it's ruled in the pilots' favor, and after news gets out to shareholders that it's going to cost the company 50+ million dollars.

The 1193 pilots who voted NO to ALPA in Jul/Aug will be eating thier words/votes and kicking themselves in the @ss if AA/JBLU merge (cause it won't be good for the JetBlue pilots). Having ALPA/any union as our rep would be better than letting JetBlue management represent the pilot in a SLI integration or McCaskill/Bond arbitration.

It was bad. Very bad. But FAL and UAL back in the day was worse and it was ALPA to ALPA. That's way back and doesn't diminish what happened to TWA. I'm just making a point. On a positive note: JB pilots should examine what the New York Air pilots were able to accomplish with Lorenzo and CAL. NYA had no union. They lawyered up with the best counsel possible and the SLI they accomplished was incredible.

I don't know if this happens today or not, but one day JB will have to probably deal with it.
