Is it an acceptable practice to go and meet the chief pilot? Is he open to people walking in and meeting him? How often is he at the airport or corporate office? The reason I ask is because I have no internal connections. Just family living there, parents born there and a hawaiian middle name. I know its a long shot without knowing someone there but maybe I can get lucky. Thanks for any info.

Nothing recent...

I know a class started a week or so ago with one more in January. Anyword on future classes.

Also...any idea when the next interviews are going to happen?

How long is this hiring going to go on. I noticed growth of 5 airplanes in 2011 but then only 2 in 2012 and 1 in 2013...is that just because it's so far off?

Thanks

I am actually not following the numbers that close but the recent purchase of 5 Airbuses was additional aircraft in 2011/12 on top of original purchases. I do know they are looking for more aircraft.
Two more destinations to be announced fairly soon and hearing 2012 could be an interesting one.
Hiring should continue.

Not interviewing now. They'll probably open up again in late spring/summer that seems to be the way its going. There are 14 additional positions coming on line due to the Maui expansion, not sure of the time frame though summer seems likely.

I will not be applying there. If the pilots are anything like, Mr Hate. (DR). Who would want to work in that kind of environment .

Dan Roman is actually a great guy and excellent Captain. I enjoy flying with him.

From your profile under you avatar you don't have the qualifications to get hired anyway. It's easy to make a bold pronouncement about about not doing something that's not within your grasp. And if you do have the qualifications, what makes you think we care, or want you, or would hire you?

No I don't have the time to get hire ,you are correct. Either way I would not want to fly with Dan R ,nor anyone like him. He seems to be obsessed with Southwest and Delta airlines. Must be fun listening to him wine about SWA for 7 hours.

Secondly everyone wants me, just look how many stalkers I have on this fourm alone .

Aren't you the guy that pretended to work for Delta in another thread?
I would think no one here would want to work with someone like you anyway.

DR, HAL, Jim, and a few others have been great at giving advice and helping those out who have asked questions about Hawaiian-or applied. To me, by that statement it shows your ignorance. Heck I even pissed one of them off and I got a not so nice response from the guy and I still respected him as we talked it out and respected each others point of view. Moral of the story, if you want to make yourself feel better than others-go somewhere else and pretend to be Mr hot shot.

I attest to HAL's and Romans assistance. I had a friend retire from HA who was trying to help, and with the 3 of them, I was able to ascertain a lot of information. They've been a great help. Unfortunately, I havent heard back for Phase III....someday maybe :)

See you prove my point, he is hard to get along with,

Don't worry I will not be applying, I do. not need to move sideways in my career.

Sideways to an A330/767 from a CFI on a Baron or C-172 Heavy??? Sheesh, go fly a shiny RJ for $22 an hour....toolbag.

He said he pissed one of the off, not that it was Dan Roman he pissed off. In fact, it was me.

If you consider Hawaiian a sideways move, you have absolutely no clue about the airline world.

Ha, I was not sure that you remember that Jim. I think just ignoring the guy would be in everyone's best interest. Heck, he is even short sided enough to realize that with any pilot group, big or small you will run into people you are not going to be buddy buddy with but you still have to be professional and make it work as a crew. When or if the guy makes it to an airline he will be surprised that life is not the box of chocolates that Forrest said it was. :)

Magic Hat...

Is HR still doing that goofy-ass, pull your question out of a magic hat?
Cool airline. It’s unfortunate the HR guru has taken over the process.

I am a little late to the party here, but just curious where the application web site or link is located? I know the window is closed, but when it opens again, will the application link be on the main Hawaiian web site? or other? I just looked on the web site and did not see it. And any best guesses as to when the window might be open again? Thanks!

You would get to it through the employment section of hawaiianair.com. If the app window is open, FO will be a listed available job.

I've been looking but haven't found a way to create a profile... Can you only create a profile when applying to a job? (if you have never applied to Hawaiian before)

In other news, I read on APC that several people were getting e-mails that the job they have applied to was filled(FO) and to basically re-apply again at some point... even though it didn't seem that any of them had interviewed yet..

Could that be the beginning of Hawaiian flushing the applicant pool and getting ready to open another window? (which is what I've heard happens every so often when Hawaiian opens an application window)

Lastly, does any one remember if a 4 year degree is an absolute deal breaker. I have a 2 year and enough credits spread through a few different majors but no 4 year. I keep hearing from other swho have applied that they don't remember seeing it as an absolute requirement. Unfortunately work and life just got in the way of finishing it back in the day.

Window will be open 5/26-6/10. $ year did not used to be a deal breaker, not sure about now. I think heavy/international is a big help now due to expansion.
