I don't want to hear any crying then when a TSA pilot bitches about not having a job and there broke because if GoJet had pref. hiring for TSA pilots why the ******************** wouldn't they take it? Because it is immoral? I'm sorry if you have mortgage and utilities bills or worse yet hungry kids to feed you will do what it takes. If any pilot dares to give you ******************** by taking that job to feed your family or yourself then either dropkick em right there or ask them for money to pay your bills. How can people sit here in times like this and complain that its a horrible company, even if it is its hard enough to get a job nowadays let alone flying. So by not taking a job at Gojets or any of the other "scum bag" airlines you think its going to make this industry better? Let me know how that goes because this profession is never going to see QOL and payscales like it did in the past. So if your in it for the money GTFO because its probably not going to happen. That right there is exactly what's wrong. The "paying the bills" excuse is the lousiest one in the book. There's always something better out there. You're telling me that by "doing what it takes" you'd rather stab your fellow pilots in the back and continue to support their operation by going there to pay the bills? There's always a better option.

Well, places like GoJet certainly aren't helping the cause in progressing towards better pay scales and QOL.

You, my friend, are the epitome of what's wrong with the aviation industry. Your ignorance is astounding, simply astounding!!!! BTW-Your arguments for going to GJ are piss poor at best. There are plenty of other opportunities out there, I suggest you put a little effort into finding one. As for sounding retarded, well, let me just say that if anyone does it's you. Alimbo, I am a furloughee and I am CFIing at a place that pays $40,000 a year. Will that pay your bills? I would even walk in your resume just so you don't go to GoJet.
 
I have an instructor job lined up that starts at 22.50 an hour 23.50 for instrument and commercial students which is definetly better than any first yr regional pay but the thing is It drys up over winter time this past winter was real rough for the instructors. GoJet has an O'hare domocile which would work perfect for me since I have to live at home a few years just to try an make loan payments. Why should I feel bad for anyone who works at TSA when they knew it was a ********************ty place to be at in the first place. Any company hiring 18 yr olds or people with 275 TT and 13 multi has to be a joke. In case you think Im bs'ing on that number Im not that was the times of a former siu grad that went that.

You've also made it abundantly clear that you find nothing wrong with stabbing your peers in the back to fly a jet. You say you have flown a PC12, there are a few PC12 operators that are hiring now, do some research. If you only have as many hours as you say you have, you shouldn't even be commenting on this whole debacle, as you have no first hand experience with it in the first place.

There is no current PC12 operators hiring right now and any that are, are wanting 135 mins which I'm not going to have for awhile. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize how crappy a company may be. Don't be pissy with me because you chose a horse******************** company to work for. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if you were one of the new hires that had a few hundred hours and now your stuck there since no one is hiring.

I actually am not currently hired by any airline nice try buddy. Enjoy the 17 days off a month because we both know sooner or later your going to be getting the full month off, and then the month after that, and the month after that. I would put a paycheck on it too, that once you see how it sucks being broke with bills to pay that you would drop a resume off to Mesa or GoJets or any other airline that is hiring at that time. I've seen your posts and it shows just how stupid you are no wonder you chose TSA as your first airline job! Cheers buddy I hope I share the cockpit with you one day.

Does having 20,000 hours make you tougher, stronger, or meaner? I know plenty 20,000 hour pilots and I'd take any of them on in a street fight any day.
2 packs a day, haven't had 8 good hours sleep in 15 years, and a gut so big they haven't seen their willy in years, long enough to declare it legally dead! Hire on you will be just fine, a job is just a job, right?

B come to GJ Ill have my app in January 13th and I know I wont get hired but maybe. Im telling you its worth it you will love Chicago and we can always split a place its better than living with the parents. Who gives a ******************** if these DBAGS will be pissed they dont pay your bills.

Well I DO have to sleep at night man. The two days that I was considering going over there were the worst nights sleep I have ever had. I know people dictating where I should and should not go while they themselves have a job is bogus but you have to see thi bigger picture. We are pilots...we have websites like this one...we have an almost brotherhood. I couldnt fathom betraying that "brotherhood" and going over to GJ even though it's a paycheck. My bills are paid by the state of MO via unemployment and right now my food is provided by the parents since I went back to LA.

When I get done having my tonsils removed I'll get back to CFI-ing unless they call me back to staff the IAD base. I just know that I couldnt live with myself if I went to GJ.

You'll understand soon enough T.

Know though that your reasoning is ridiculous, on par with being a Cubs fan but losing sleep over the idea that you're beginning to like the White Sox. Yeah ya know when you only see half the story it wouldnt make sense. I drank the same kool-aid you did when I had the doozie of an idea of sending my s$it over there but the "talking to" about the history, the actual documents and basically having my eyes opened to a number of different factors about GJ and TSA make me feel the way I do. I wake up each morning thankful that I did not show up to that interview and that I am not in class.

As I said before...well you can read what I said before. I'm actually a cool guy if you take the time to read and or actually know me. Oh well though...you're you and I'm me...and Corona is good...had a bit this afternoon on the beach...

Happier now than in a CR7 cockpit that's for sure...
 
Options, your posts are full of lies and half truths. You spin and mislead trying to justify yourself and your coworkers. You're nothing but an enabler of management in their efforts to undermine another pilot group and their contract.

That's what you think. There's definitely been a lot of half-truths being told, but it's from TSA pilots. If you want half-truths just look at the crap you TSA dudes are spewing. Here is EXACTLY what I've been saying:


FACT: Gojet was formed so that Hulas could get into the 70-seat market, as American Airlines' agreement with Trans States Airlines (TSA) prohibits TSA from flying anything larger than 50 seats FOR ANY AIRLINE, not just American.

FACT: The TSA pilots argue that Gojet is alter-ego and trying to get around their pilots and their contract.

FACT: That argument was not proven in court or to the NMB, and in fact the opposite was proven (see FACT #1 above).

FACT: Gojet is a separate 121 certificate.

FACT: Gojet has not taken any flying from TSA.

FACT: The TSA pilots were offered a deal for one list by management, including hiring with some benefits of seniority, which the pilots found inadequate due to several items, such as fleet lay-offs (and I have already stated, I probably would have voted against it as well).

Opinion: You should have done what every other regional has done who was SUCCESSFUL in getting one list: Take the consessions and deal with the "crap" that came with them after getting 1 list in the next contract. (I would have regretted voting no on it as well, as I would have and now see that was a mistake)

FACT: Rather than take those consessions, TSA's MEC thought they could strong-arm management and force them for 1 list anyway. At the recommendation of the TSA's MEC, the pilots voted down the offer. Then they went to Court AND filed with the NMB. They lost. It was a huge gamble and it didn't pay off, and now they will NEVER have one list.

FACT: Both airlines are separate and no different than ASA & Skywest being owned by the same holding company. Any attempts of a single carrier status being gained will not happen.


TSA pilot opinions: Gojet pilots work for an "alter-ego" company, just because the TSA pilots didn't get their way and were unsuccessful in forcing management to go one list - they gambled and lost, so now they take it out on the Gojet pilots and say Gojet pilots are "management enablers" and "no better than scabs" (which is what someone ignorant to the industry would say, there is a HUGE difference between their little feud and crossing picket lines).

FACT: No one cares about this little feud except the TSA pilots, EX TSA pilots and those who have nothing else to do but respond to every post they can on the FI board with "mesa sucks!" and dig at every pilot group that is not theirs. This "opinion" is EXTREMELY minor and irrelevant to any Gojet pilot or their futures.

FACT: Gojet is having no problem finding high-time pilots, but is still offering preferrential hiring for TSA furloughed pilots. There are 10 in this month's new-hire class.

FACT: Gojet pilots are having no problems finding jobs at major airlines.

FACT: Gojet pilots ARE NOT having a problem jumpseating, and any TSA pilot who refuses to fly a Gojet jumpseater will find themselves in the chief pilots' office and may be fired (HIS words).

FACT: Gojet pilots ARE NOT giving anyone problems jumpseating. If they did, they'd find themselves in THEIR chief pilots' office.

FACT: Gojet is a regional whore just like any other regional whore. Gojet has not stolen their flying from any other airlines (yet).

FACT: TSA is a regional whore just like any other regional whore. TSA has stolen all of their flying from other airlines.


So what half-truth have I stated, exactly, TSA ERJ? Please, be specific. And before you speak, bring your facts... not your opinion. Or, do as I did, and state it as such.


Opinion: You're stupid if you're a furloughed TSA pilot and don't walk onto Gojet. Enjoy flipping your burgers and hold your head up high (don't knock off your paper hat, though, or let that ALPA pin fall off that you wear on your shirt collar so you can impress the other burger flippers that you are (were) an ALPA member, that's a health code violation!) when you slip that time slip into the clock when you show up.

And if you are NOT a furloughed TSA pilot, you have absolutely no right to tell a TSA furloughed pilot he shouldn't go to Gojet. I bet if you were furloughed your resume would be in the stack as well, but of course you have the luxury of denying it on this anonymous board. That's o.k. - we all know this. Gojet's just about the only game hiring right now unless you want to go overseas. WHEN you are furloughed, we'll see your resume at Gojet and you're lying if you say you won't.

People seem to think I'm just out there defending Gojet. Well, I'm not, really, as I've already stated, I could really give a rat's a$$ about any of it. All I'm doing is giving the non-TSA pilots' perspective. The fact that I disagree with these guys who have a definite bias towards this does not mean I agree with the situation.

I have never stated I agreed with any of it. I merely state what the situation is, minus the TSA pilots' animosity and dripping sarcasm, and the HALF-TRUTHS stated by them about Gojet being "alter-ego" (which is a term used to define an airline created to get around a pilot group's SCOPE, which is NOT the case at Gojet) - and the half a dozen or so TSA pilots who get on this board and try to make it look like "life is hell" for a Gojet pilot is so full of crap it's ridiculous. Life is pretty OK at Gojet, I have no complaints other than it is a regional and it's a regional life.

The life at Gojet isn't anymore "hell" than at TSA. Anyone stating anything different is just plain lying.

Everything in this thread has already been said in the other 2 "let's slam Gojet" threads started by TSA furloughed low-timers and someone inquiring about applying at Gojet, respectively. As was stated earlier, no one's opinions are going to change on this on either side of the coin. Now people have "the other side" in this thread and I can now leave it alone until the next TSA idiot starts another one and once again starts spewing misinformation. I'm done on this one, though. Got better things to do than counter the lies from the same guys about the same things already lied about by them in the other threads. In fact, next time I'll just cut and paste when the next thread starts. ;-)
