A normal flight from Punta Cana to Wilmington, NC:

Emergency descent, land in Providenciales. Call company and tell them what happened. Get handed over to a PSM that proceeds to chew the crew out for not continuing onto to ILM after the B screen shatters.

PSM then gets the crew to get into the airplane along with the passengers that were onboard and take the airplane to PBI at FL240

ASAP. Make it official and at least there's a paper trail. Business as usual in Clown Town is see.
 
Flight Options business as usual. YAAAWN! This is mild compared to most stories at Flops.

I take it that continueing with a busted "B" screen is no-no, especially into IMC. I am sure that it was properly documented in the maintenance log and differed before departing Provo......NO?? How about the verbal from maintenance and PSM of "it's OK, you don't need it". That's how Flops rolls.

Don't bother fileing an ASAP report, ASAP program is just a "get out of jail" free card for the company.
Send it to all the Air Safety Inspectors that you know. No get out of jail free card outside of the ASAP program.

I have worked in and around dangerous flight department environments but Flight Options takes the Grand Prize! No mistake about it, Deliberate actions on managements part and the ability to get the type rated crews to second guess their actions and better judgement, to be willing to risk life and property rather than doing the right thing.

Some owners have wised up to how dangerous Flops is and have moved on but some still believe that they are safe and are saving a buck with the renta wreck operation.

I would like to congratulate the crew and their Experimental Passengers, did anyone get their names?

Sooo....you're sure there were pax on board the leg from MBPV to PBI? I doubt that - it was probably a ferry. The company would not (and can not) fly people with a broken windscreen. Come on get the facts.
 
Per the GOM, the crew is required to call Maintenance control in KCGF for "proper guidance" on writing up the discrepancy. They give you the "you don't need it" and tell you to continue on. If the crew insist on putting it in writing, the alarms go off and a brain dead program manager or anyone else that has sold their sole will instantly call the Captain and tell them that they (the crew) are very mistaken on their professional decision on an aircraft that they have been throughly trained on. The crew feels that their job is in danger and caves, deciding that it is suddenly better to risk life and property to appease the idiots in KCGF. The management person that makes the call in some cases is not even typed in the aircraft.
The crews should be congratulated on making the wise professional choices, never at Flops. The culture at Flight Options is to fly the busted azz planes they give you and break regs without question.

Wow, I'm agreeing with Skanza... No way there was actually pax on board, please... Say it ain't so!
