Intel from Indoc Class

OK guys...we (28 Aug new hire class) just finished up Indoc today...most of us are starting ground school next Wed (13 Sep).

Here's the latest inside gouge we got from PD in training dept today after class:

6-7 more 727 classes remaining this calendar year

2 in Sep

2-3 in Oct

1 in Nov

1 in Dec

Avg class size about 22....approximate class mix 8-10 FOs with the remainder 12-14 SOs in each class (...note: new hire class starting on 11 Sep will be all SO)

The data above implies the total # of new hires for the remainder of this calendar year should be about 150....this will probably drain the pool up to the point when interviews starting happening again this late spring/summer.

Late Spring/Summer interviewees would then start training in Jan 2007 at a rate of approx 25 per month for the entire year.

Best guess is that meet-n-greets will start up again after New Years too.

Hope this intel is useful.

Aloha!

p.s. Oh yeah, we ran into a class of 5-6 guys interviewing today....not sure of their meet and greet dates, sorry.

Has there been any talk of off-site training for 727 newhires?

There's a bunch of guys going offsite. 8 SOs going to MCO and 4 FOs going to MIA for sim training. Usually 2 or 3 week duration.

I imagine that the future will hold similar numbers.

Good luck,

TSD

Thanks TSD. How do they figure out who goes off-site? Do they seek volunteers and then base it off seniority (i.e. last 4)?

It's all seniority... Last 4 of your social, higher being better. However, when you pair up with your partner (voluntary basis), the higher seniority of the two bids. So if your seniority number is 0001, and your partners is 9999, then he will bid and you basically get what you want.

So look for that 9999 guy. Oh, and you'll have temporary badges with your seniority number within that class 1-25 in our classes case.

Hope that helps,

TSD

Slight change

OK boys,

After DLax's post earlier today, I went back and checked my calender and it appears that I'm a dumba$$, but in a good way. My interview date was actually April 26-27 and not 25-26. I did the sim prep on the 25th and that's why I had that date in my head. So....good news for all those behind me. 5 less in the pool as far as I know. I'll make the changes below.
