Pilot reported bailed out and walking around dazed. Possible mother and two children in the destroyed house. Crews concerned about toxic smoke and ejection seat that wasn't used activating.

Lived right near there in college. Not normal flight path over University City. Left circuit would require turn inside 805. West departure would require turn north of those neighborhoods. Very sad indeed, for all involved.

I lived in that very area until 6 months ago. I have some good friends that live in the neighborhood. Sad times.

Media says it crashed 2 miles east of the airport in the University City area (which is to the west), so I can only assume that the reporters do not know which way is up and down either.
