So before I even begin this, let me stress this is what I heard from pilot recruiter A.N. (who was a complete b...., stating that XJT pays better than Horizon (errr, what?), and that "We're so much better than every other airline" that even if true, shouldn't be said so condescendingly). Anyway, this is purely speculation that came from someone who may or may not be "in the know." ... I personally think it's the dumbest thing I've heard in quite a bit but. "Did you know that if you take all the seats out of the 145 and put in couches it's the exact same as Embraer's Legacy? We're looking into that with a lot of interest." Also, she said, "We're not stupid enough to try anything like Independence Air, but if we did, we have $3 million in the bank, they had $0"

If they only have 3 million in cash they have a lot bigger problems then the 69 airplanes.

Someone didn't get hired.

True, because I didn't apply :)

Then why did you talk to the recruiter then. i call bs. You didnt get hired. Stop being a baby about it. Since you think XJT is so stupid then its a good thing you didnt get the job. :bawling:

Okay, so tell us where you did get hired to fly the ERJ145 (which is in your profile) that is apparently better than ExpressJet?

Per his/her other post on the other thread about XJT, he talked to the recruiter today. 10/05 if thats true.

I was there as a rep of another company flying the 145, and was just chatting with her, unbeknownst to her I was not a potential applicant. I'm happy where I'm at. And I'm not saying XJT isn't a great regional, but this woman just seemed completely tactless.

We here at XJT could not care a dang bit about what you percieve to have heard a "Pilot Recruiter" tell you about our future and the 69 jets. For starters if you look at XJT holdings public financial reports you will find something like 300 million dollars in cash, not 3 million. You will also find that our XRJ's are nothing like a Legacy, even if you did put a couple of couches and a mini-bar in them.

What the future holds for us is up for debate, but posting completely worthless information is actually counter productive to any point you were trying to make. With that said I do have some optomisim that my company will be successful in the future no matter what they do with the 69 jets we are keeping.

If you look at the big picture of where our little slice of the industry (the regionals) is going, you might want to thank the ex INDY pilots for having the bravery to stick it out at their company to the end. INDY left the template for what to, and what not to do for any other regional that decides to strike out on their own. Remember the old addage about being the lead dog??

Oh and just to make you feel better...... The sky is falling!!! The sky is falling!!!

Wow, lighten up Francis. I was just telling you what I was told. And it seems to be somewhat confirmed by: http://www.expressjet.com/corpAviation/index.htm But I guess in typical flightinfo fashion that when someone provides a piece of information, rather than talk about that, we'll just resort to the pointless attacks.

Not that this is the only thing wrong with her statements, but Independence had a LOT more than $3 Million on the bank, A LOT more...

Your entire post is a pointless attack. Who cares what some recruiter said about the pay here at ExpressJet (apparently only you). Also, starting up a corporate flight operation is an intuitive idea with possibilities of greater profits than feeding for a major. The configuration may not be the same as a legacy, but the important thing is using the aircraft for corporate. I think it would be much more stupid to give up the 69 aircraft that we have maintained for the past several years to a group that will undercut us. What would that say about our pilot group?

Looks to me like ExpressJet will become the Go! of the 135 world...

The company that had that mid-air in Brazil starts their legacy FO's at $85k/yr.
