So before I even begin this, let me stress this is what I heard from pilot recruiter A.N. (who was a complete b...., stating that XJT pays better than Horizon (errr, what?), and that "We're so much better than every other airline" that even if true, shouldn't be said so condescendingly). Anyway, this is purely speculation that came from someone who may or may not be "in the know." ... I personally think it's the dumbest thing I've heard in quite a bit but. "Did you know that if you take all the seats out of the 145 and put in couches it's the exact same as Embraer's Legacy? We're looking into that with a lot of interest." Also, she said, "We're not stupid enough to try anything like Independence Air, but if we did, we have $3 million in the bank, they had $0"

Did you believe everything the Army recruiter told you too, come on. Since when does HR at any company know what they are talking about.

I was at said career fair today. I was looking for a job and spoke with the Expressjet lead pilot recruiter. She said exactly what Lamp spoke of. Just vouching for what Lamp said.

The Problem with XJT pilots is their egos. They are also very big on the koolaid. Just read superpilots' messages he just LOVES xjt. Problem is much like ASA and Comair Xjt is starting to shrink and soon will have 6 year upgrades like Comair and ASA. All because they didn't want to lower their costs and get some more flying.

Who has asked us as pilots to lower costs to get more flying? Perhaps our management does not wish to compete in the "race to the bottom" where everyone submits bids with ridiculously low profit margins just to get flying. As pilots we haven't been asked for any sort of paycuts nor has our management shown any interest in purchasing 70 seat airplanes. It just isn't part of their business plan.

I'm not going to defend Superpilot's koolaid drinking ability but your response couldn't be more uninformed. I don't believe XJT lost the bid because we were unwilling to lower our cost or out of some ego battle with CAL. Perhaps CAL's price was unrealistic for us. Perhaps even more likely, CAL just wanted to diversify and XJT's offer was meaningless.

By the way, what is your problem with XJT? You seem to have a real bone to pick with us. I saw your post about how you won't be happy until XJT is no more (or some derivative there of). If I'm not mistaken you are a CAL newhire from ASA perhaps? Wow how soon you forget where you came from. Since you once flew a CRJ what makes you so much better now Mr. big 73 FO at $30/hr. Were you not doing the same to Delta once as a CRJ pilot?

And that is what is going to make xjt fail

So in other words, you encourage the race to the bottom? Wow, you'll fit in just fine with the CAL scabs with that attitude. Will you be singing the same tune when the CAL pilots cave on scope and CHQ or the like starts flying E170s for CAL? I bet you'll sing a different tune real fast.

We will never let that happen.
