I do fine where I'm at. It's going to be a pay cut for me to come over. Pay rate to pay rate. I'm not interested in premium trips, working the system and whoring my self out.

Fletch, don't think of it as "whoring". Think of yourself as a "Sex Industry Worker". ;)

True.

Many of them were pretty senior Captains. I talked to one of them at the gym on an overnight. He and the other AirTran guys are enjoying the pick of the trips. We were laughing our arses off at how angry the Cartels and junior SWA FOs were becoming.

So, they're enjoying their "pay cut"? ;)

Cartels? I could see that.

Junior FO's? How could that possibly effect them? They aren't going to get any premium/charter work anyway. Not even close to reality.

You guys are STILL talking about this....

Wonder when the 10 of you will agree?

:)

So you are happy? Then what's the problem?

Actually, we are all just waiting around for the next VX quarterly results. We have to have something to keep us occupied.

What will you do at that point? Look in the mirror and pat yourself on the back, celebrating that buying your 737 type paid off and that you were one of the few lucky ones?

it did in a big way. that investment, once offered the job was the best money ever spent. I make that money back 2 1/2 times every month. sorry you didn't make the cut. go fly your DC-3 at 9,000 feet.

I'm surprised you guys don't get nose heavy with all that arrogant attitude that is so prevalent in all these SWA threads. Why is it all of you vocal ones are always busting out your W2 numbers, trip values, days off? Congrats to you, but I honestly really don't care. Just don't bend over those Airtran guys too hard.

We all can't be new hires at VA.

Are all the VA pilots as bitter as you ?

Classic, "you will make more per day" never mind that at the end of the year your W2 will be less. Linden was much dummer than I could ever have imagined.
AAI 12th yr CA (pre-merger): $152/hr
Avg credit hr per day: 6 hrs

12th Yr SWA FO: $132/TFP
Average TFP per day: 7 TFP

That looks like equal pay per day to me (which turns into a little higher total comp with profit sharing). You are going to have to explain to me how your W2 will be less if you work the same number of days at both airlines.

Also, if you don't think an NMB arbitration panel would have considered SWA's CBA (pay and QOL) when they issued their SLI award, I got a bridge to sell you out in Nevada.

By posting pay rates from our 2001 contract in order to bolster your argument, you have invalidated your already specious argument.

You were selected to officially represent your fellow pilots; by coming on this public forum you are abusing that trust and embarassing yourself. Give it a rest. Seriously.

the only true comparison is with those pre buyout wages, thinking you would have gotten anything better is a false argument.

Yeah, we'd still be working under a 12 year-old Contract that expired 8 years ago. Whatever you say, Chief.

If you really think that, good luck in section 6 if they decide to start playing hardball.

I didn't have any numbers in my post.

Why do you guys always bring up Southwest Airlines hiring requirements? The fact is anybody in their right mind would decide a 8500.00 investment is worth it for what you get back. Thats the point jack!

They're compensating for something.

Funny AirTran guys talking about money.... "Its not about the money" - Its about the days off, title and status while helping an airline you love take over the World.

Most Trannys would have worked for free as long as you call them "Captain" and give them 12 days off a month. Ok maybe 14 days off. They expressed this love of company (AT) by voting over 90 percent to strike. What was the strike vote for? More days off? Money? NO WAY!!! crazy!

Flying is great, but we all do this to pay the bills. So lets all great real here.

Here's my numbers..

Hired without the type. Got the type for $5000. Was able to right off 3500. So actual out of pocket was $1500. That's after being told 'you're hired'. It was a no-brainer. Paid off within the first two months being on the line. Best investment I ever made.

PCL, you guys trying to compensate for voting down the first agreement by dumpster diving for perceived 'wrongs' now?
