Take if from someone who has seen a few ALPA leaders....every one of them ascends to a position. None of them would consider going back and being a lowly line pilot. It would be beneath their "skills", plus they would have to go out and live under the contracts they either signed or negotiated. They would have to sit in the crew room and see first hand their handiwork. First hand from their fellow pilots who have seen their pay, benefits, and pensions decimated.
They would rather sit in an high priced office, wear an expensive suit, and pontificate to the rest of us on CNN or CNBC.
