I won't bid the DC9--you can bet on that.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Probably for the best anyway... You actually have to fly the 9 instead of turning on the automation and expounding and blowing hot air in cruise, as I'm sure you're used to. Tell me, honestly, do you bash the 9 because you feel your 88's are superior aircraft, or is it just because you're afraid of it??

I'm not worried about you bidding the 9. Your testicles will have to drop before you can even think about handling that airplane, you button-pushing blowhard.

I happen to love the 9. Then again, I actually remember how to fly an airplane......

(I'm sure your ego driven response will be forthcoming, post haste, but I'll just continue to chalk your 9 bashing up to good old fashioned penis envy. Growing problem, my butt.... Ask your wife, General. The only growing problem you have is your hemorrhoids.)

Actually our current value is closer to $7 billion, only $1 billion less than Southwest is worth.
Bye Bye--General Lee

Even you cant be that stupid to believe that. How do you come up with 7 billion for SWA. Our fuel hedges alone are worth 4 B.

Cause he's the general and he thinks he knows everything about every airline. He probably read that on the internet somewhere, so you know, it has to be be true....

We should take bets on when DAL files again. I do have a question. If after BK their 88 leases went from 280K a month to $80K, what can you get them down to in another trip thru BK? $0?

If Delta mgt was so good, why did they ever accept such crappy leases? I personally feel that convenient trips through Ch 11 is about on par with gov subsidies. Call me a Darwinist, but Delta should have had to sink or swim in the free market. It's sad they had to go the hand out route.

Where do I start??

Leo Mullin and Michelle Burns and crew mortgaged the airline to the hilt, thinking that this whole September 11 thing would be short lived. They were wrong, as history showed. It took a awhile for traffic to return. They were agreeing to interest rates of 31 percent in equipment leases and then hoarding the cash. All while this was going on, knowing full well the airline couldn't sustain that, they set up Bankruptcy proof pension plans for themselves. As they hoarded cash, the stock price remained propped up while the airline couldn't keep up with the interest payments.

So you believe 60000 employees should lose their jobs because of 5 scumbags??? Did the office guy at Enron deserve to lose his job for his actions?? This was the exact reason Bankruptcy was created. To re-organize and believe it......it wasn't for free....it cost a lot in lawyers (more scumbags) and fees just to dance on the carpet of the courts.

But then again, you know everything, I just can't believe I just wasted 2.4 minutes typing this out to a
schoolgirl hiding behind his flightsuit.....

I think that Tanker Clown guy was the one who got beat up, locked in lockers, and given swirlies in high school! "_ _ _ _ _ Envy" is what the correct term is!!

Fits the profile!

Call me a free market capitalist...I just think that the strong should survive. Maybe Delta wasn't the weakest legacy (I'm sure that's a whole debate on it's own), but we will never know. All this consolidation talk now probably wouldn't be happening if there wasn't Ch 11 to hide in. Someone would probably be gone and those employees would move on to other airlines or other industries. And the capacity would be lower.

I'm sorry you guys were run by some scum bags...still, as a taxpayer, that's not really my fault. Blame your BOD. I shouldn't have to pay for a safe harbor for Delta to work out it's issues while well run airlines have to compete without the benifit of hiding behind the government.

Wait a minute Tanker....

Where do your taxes and Delta's bankruptcy merge?? Delta pays the court costs just like a traffic ticket.....nothing in this deal was for free.

The only well-run airline is Southwest....hands down!! But even they and every other post deregulation darling startup didn't have the pension costs or the healthcare issues or the training issues (type ratings paid by candidate) that the larger airlines incurred.......To go from regulated to deregulated and then compete with companies with first year employees and new manufacturer financed brand new jets wasn't Delta's fault.....but we had to live with it......and bankruptcy was the remedy.....

Trust me man, go re-read the bills we paid to be there and undo the mess the management and BOD got us into........besides, an airline with BILLIONS in revenue pays it's fair share of taxes, which is where the rubber meets the road.......no politician will let that income dissappear while we are fighting a war...

Delta goes out and then Airtran moves in (Like Delta did with Eastern) gets huge, everybody is happy..... then Tanker Air begs the government for slots and uses dealer financing to get new jets and pays their people minimum wage and then starts undercutting the established Airtran....Airtran goes out and then Tanker Air becomes the big fish and then another airline finds people to work for free.......and the spiral continues.........Is that the world you want to live in, just to subsidize a cheap ticket???

Well gee. What I made of selling several homes two years ago was more than you'll make in 10 years. Oh it sucks to be you. :D :D :D :D

What....You think you're the only one selling homes on the side? ;)
Now I know why a college degree wasn't necessary to get hired at the cactus club!

Talk about stupid. I said $7 billion for Delta, which was $1 billion LESS than Southwest. Go back to 3rd grade math. How much would Southwest have if that is the case? That would be $ 8 Billion. I read those numbers on the internet like good old future Cape Air Flow Back Zippy stated. I will try to verify those, but in the mean time, you must look into the camera and state "I am not smarter than a 3rd grader..."

General dont give yourself to much credit, I think you are more like a 3 yr old ,and even that is a stretch. :)

Hillarious. Thanks Dad.

Get ready for your "flowback" to Comair there general. I bet you stand in front of the mirror every morning and congratulate yourself for being such a super guy.....I aspire to be as smart and articulate as you some day and maybe put on that coveted uniform you so proudly wear. Oh, dare to dream......

Flowback to Comair? Well, if that is so, then caution wake turbulence in your C402--those RJs can turn them over quick I bet.

As far as being smart and articulate as me someday, well, I think you might never get there. And the part about wearing a Delta uniform, you do have to the ability to throw in an app any time you want. Now getting past the interview, medical test, and psych test---that will be like climbing Mt Everest for you. But, maybe you can do it. Everyone needs goals, and I think you have one........

I agree with you on the free market. Over the past several decades, Delta, along with many other airlines, has had to compete with airlines operating under chapter 11. CAL went through twice. Maybe if the laws had not been so lenient towards those airlines, Delta and the others would never have been as weakened as they were. Delta did not make the bankruptcy rules. They, like many airlines before them, used them to restructure and move forward.

Well gee. What I made of selling several homes two years ago was more than you'll make in 10 years. Oh it sucks to be you. :D :D :D :D

Really? You made over 1.1 million selling homes? IF THAT IS TRUE....and you still work for a commercial airline..you have some psych issues.

With the change in the BK rules, hopefully the industry will be able to work out the weak links naturally now. I'm not sure how different the CH 11 laws are, but I hear that BK isn't the gub'ment hand out it once was.

I'm sure this idiot has something negative to say about DAL. I strongly suggest everyone do this and pay no attention to the troll!

I think as an aviation community, we should stage some sort of anger managment intervention for 737 Plyt. He obviously has some deep issues that a paid professional should help him sort out. I now feel sorry for him. He needs our help.

He should heed Stuart Smally's advice: "Face it, chase it, and erase it."

Good luck 737 Plyt. I hope you get the help you need.

Serenity now.....Serenity now!

I'm telling you folks, put this jerk on your ignore list. Soon he'll be posting more and more as his alter ego jke406!
