Back to the original question: Should regional guys be worried? Well, the fee-for-departure, let-the-legacy -carrier-pay-for-the-gas-and-assume-all-the-risk-so-we-can -make-a-huge-profit *cough* skywest* cough* guys should be worried. That's just my opinion.

There's a new way of doing business in the regional world with contracts written so the regional carrier takes on an equal share of the risk, and profits. I hear through the grapevine that the legacy carriers are really pleased with this type of arrangement.......too bad only one regional is doing it.
