Compass new bases after Delta NW Merge?

PDT/AWAC/Comair/EXJ/MidWest WERE great places to work with good pay rates and work rules, now Republic/Compass/Mesa are undercutting us, taking the jobs, and people are going over there to "Get that upgrade".
When these companies are taking jobs like RAH with Midwest, what do have to look forward to when we upgrade, to fly that RJ 170 forever!
Regionals/commuter airlines should not be flying large aircraft for low pay.
Lets just look at PDT and Compass; first year pay at PDT for a FO on a 37 and 50 seat TurboProp is $25/hr, Compass is $24 to fly a 69 seat JET! That is NOT good!
It is all known that the ERJ 175 is taking over routes that the DC-9's flew!

What do you suggest the pilots do about it?

Well the easy answer is just say "NO", but that is easier said than done.
Start when the CBA are up, and get back what we need and gave up in hard times. One thing I am going to be asking for is training pay, If I need to be in the sim for 1 hr briefing, 4 hrs in the sim and 1 hr debrief, that is 6 hrs of pay NOT 3 hrs. No Blended rates on RJ's. More restrictions on Furlowed pilots. we can't stop a company form furlowing, but those pilots get a severance package, accrue longevity for pay!
That is just the start.

SoiuxHockeyFan and I are just trying to rally all pilots from ALL airlines to get on one level playing field and make sure that we all have jobs for the future. If we continue seeing the RAH pilots walking around with "The EJet-The Guppy Killer" stickers on their flight bags, they need to be educated on what they are doing to the industry. Get that one year upgrade on a ERJ170 and then retire there on that plane because you have allowed your company to undercut the major airlines!

A scheduler or chief pilot should NEVER ask, "Can you wave the contract to help us out?" because WHEN will they help you out by them waiving the contract?

I'm still waiting for you to explain this statement. This is not happening at Compass...or were you talking about a different airline?

Calm down, sorry that I did not get to answer your question.
I am NOT at Compost but have a few friends that are there; and yes both have been in situations where they had to do it and grieve it. I am sorry but I am unable to go into details about the events because this is a public forum and their grievances are being processed.
When pilots do NOT read the contract while they are in training they are being used beyond the CBA.

Hey Mav, got this from a different thread, maybe you should get your own house in order before you worry so much about everyone else.

Just heard that the DCA pilot manager is quitting and going to greener pastures! Maybe that manager can get a job for the PHL pilot manager and the ARW pilots can start getting respect from base managers instead of the harassment that they receive on a daily basis!
This is a good day, for the pilot group, but I think that this means that the writing is on the wall for the future of AWAC.
The day that you start seeing managers leaving is like watching rats running off a sinking ship.

I was there at one time, it's not sunshine and butterfly's anywhere. Each individual airline has it's individual problems. Compass has a very young contract, that's the problem. The pilots haven't had 20+ years to amend and tweak it like other companies.

AWAC ALPA is working on getting back to where they used to be with an industry leading CBA and we we do have a long and touch road ahead of us.
I am here to support what SiouxHockeyFan is saying.
I have no intentions to work for Compost, even if it did give me a fast upgrade. I had the ability to go there over a year ago and chose to stay here. Did I give up a guaranteed Captain position, yes, but would rather be paid the correct amount for the size aircraft that I fly.

You're dodging the question. We are not talking about violating the contract and then grieving it anymore. That discussion is over with. I am asking for proof of your claim that Compass is openly ASKING FOR PERMISSION to go against the contract to help out the company.

Ok.....I do not have that information, but wait for a snow storm or a ops issue and you will see it, I have see it at the last 2 airlines that I have worked for in the past. I am sorry if I mis quotes the potential of Compost Airlines. I would rather be wrong in this situation, but i have a feeling that it will happen. UNless you have listened to EVERY phone call between manager/crew schedulers and pilots then you can NOT answer the question either!

Just admit that you're making false accusations on here. I already know you're a fraud who knows nothing other than he got turned down at his Compass interview last year, and is pissed off at the company now. That much is obvious.

After having DAL close all 4 bases between my current job and my previous one flying DelCon, I see what you're saying. But Expressjet never had a base in SLC.

You are wrong. The Compass contract is middle of the road. Our Captains make a little less than some carriers who fly similar size equipment (E175 or CRJ900) and a little more than other carriers who fly similar size equipment. Our FO's are the same.

Captains make more per hour than Comair, Mesa, and Skywest but make less per hour than Republic.

Our FOs make more than Mesa and Republic but less than Skywest and Comair. The difference is negligible at every company.

Work rules are a littel harder to quantify. Ours are better than Mesa and Republic, about the same as Comair, and I have no clue about Skywest.

I would like to make $100 an hour flying a 76 passenger airplane but it's not going to happen. Our only hope it that mainline protects all flying they currently have.

Compost FO's first year make LESS than than Piedmont flying Dash 8's.
Why should a CA not make $100 an hour fling a 76 seat RJ?
Airline pilot pay has been stagnant for MANY years, we need a raise! Your opinion on not getting a pay rise is wrong and that attitude will only hurt the industry as a whole!

Not really. I know you are looking at pay scales but.....the other commuters that have been around for a long time ....like Comair...don't have 1-3 year captains like Compass. Thier Captains make a good bit more than yours. Pilots look at each other's scales to compare and honestly there is not much more they can do for just straight pay. Management looks at avg years of service for each seat AND pay rates. This is what they care about. Which is why they fight tooth and nail during contracts...we get kind of close to what we want.....the ta barely passes.....then managment walks away laughing. They know that before you get to those nice 12-15 year scales....they will do to you what they are doing to higher payroll cost senoir regionals like Comair. They follow this patern everywhere without exception. Just when you feel that its good income and sched. they tear your airline apart.
