Someone else has seen the light. Tired of Mark Karr (sp?), Michael Jackson, Sandra Levi, Natalie Holloway, of statistics about the safety of flying vs driving (or showering) being ignored? Tired of talking heads spewing non-sequitor political bumper-sticker logic at each other?

Try the Newshour on PBS. It sums up the day's events without the entertainment.

Birkenstocks mandatory. Must have Starbucks in hand or you will be guaranteed a blissful nap.

I keep hearing that the "controller" wasn't watching the aircraft. I thought it was an FAA mandated there always be TWO controllers in the tower. Does anyone know if that is true. IF so where was the other controller? Just curious. Just imagine how the controller feels about this whole situation. If I was the controller, I would have a real hard time sleeping.

Welcome to our newest aviator, 747flyboy2

Apparently he got banned and re-registerd. He really wants to make his point on this web-board

Now there is $10 well spent.

I was hoping the 10 dollar charge would cut down on the Flame on here. Apprently some pilots make enough to toss 10 bucks to get a rise out of people.

What does it matter where you flew? I've flown different aircraft all over the world for the past 10 years, including 2 years of Part 121 on the 747. My experience is not only from flying, its from being smart and laying down rules that won't be broken for anyone or anything.

Are you saying that in the commercial airlines its OK to rush? If so, I sure hope you're not a captain yet. If you are a captain I sure hope you have co-pilots with some balls that'll tell you to slow down or they won't be operating the aircraft with you.

Ok... Did I miss something? Where has it been determined that they were rushing? Has it been determined that then got into the correct plane, fueled, boarded and taxied out in such a short time that it was obvious that they were rushing? You must have the timeline or something huh?

Actually, I was banned once for talking about my relationship with Jesus.

You have a relationship with Jesus? Well I have a relationship with Jesus too, and the next time I see him, he's got a lot of explaining to do.

How do you know hes even a pilot?

If he is I would hate to fly with him...nothing worse in aviation than a know it all.

Especially bad when they jump all over a accident screaming I would NEVER have done THAT!!

Hey 747 A$$$$$$$$$$$$$-Hole. I don't know what your problem is but I can give you that attitude adjustment that you need free of charge. UBA757

Would you guys please stop bashing 747fly(little)boy and Kevmutt! It takes a lot of experience and will power to stop touching one's self long enough while surfing porn to fly ALL the airplanes on MS Flight Simulator and become master pilots....Hmmm, since they are baiting everyone on here, would you call them master baiters?

There is a reason that this is an important story to report. It needs to remind us that no matter how routine your day may be, we still need to put our energies into expecting the non-routine items that will undoubtedly be thrown our way.

Sure, the ramper or gate agent may tell you the wrong airplane...but what if the dispatch release is late, and you are forced into a rush...but you don't take the time to slow down. Did you miss the tail number? Or the fact that airplane you climbed into was prefueled by the ramp who had looked up the fuel numbers while you were busy. In your haste, you depart in an aircraft that is fueled for a 35 minute flight...but have a 135 minute flight ahead of you. It HAS happened.

The fact that they got into the wrong airplane does not necessarily reflect on them, but potentially, the fact that you or I did it, could reflect upon our abilities sometime in the future.

Fly Safe!

God forbid CS sent them to the wrong plane, and the ramper who was loading them (knowing what was going where) got 'em going in the right direction.

Damn good points. At the majors when they go to the gate there is only one airplane normally. At the 'regional' level i've seen 4 planes sitting there at the gate. I've asked the rampie which one is ours and I've been told the wrong plane several times. And I've also been told 'The release will be out shortly'. I've learned at this point to call dispatch and see what they have to say.

We are all human. Remember that. Sometimes we have to slow down a little when we realize that things are beginning to slide the wrong way. Learn to recognize that point and deal with it. I've pulled over when taxiing out, stopped and caught our minds up with the airplane. 25 years ago it saved our lives.

I vote that we put kevdog and 747flyboy on the NTSB investigation board. They apparently have it all figured out.

AF

I vote we put them in a cockpit together and see how long it takes them to make the news.

I suspect the FA's would put visine in their coffee before they even had a chance to make the news.
