He isn't saying he is going to half-ass his preflights. He is being serious- he will find every last required placard and paint chip and whatever else he can find that can delay or stop a flight. He will be doing his walk around with a magnifying glass looking for ANYTHING that is not 100 percent up to FAA standards. Now if everyone there does this, there will be incredible pressure on management to do the right thing since the costs to recover will go through the roof. The problem is there probably aren't enough pilots there yet who are fed up enough to put the pressure on and force management to do the right thing for the pilots. Good luck.

Problem at CA is that "he" HAS TO REPORT THESE TO THE "CAPT" AND THE CAPT THEN WILL DECIDE IF A WRIT-UP IS DONE.....THESE SAME CAPT THAT DID NOT GET THE PAY CUT....DAMN SORRY "REDUCTION IN RAISE" so how far will it go? Probably not past his ears since the other shoe is ready to kick up the capt's butt for being seen by the home office as one of "those problem caps that writes everything up" Nope not many of those guys here any longer....hence why the ones left wont do it!

Good thought though!

Holy shiit. Please Unionize before someone in NJA management compares us to your pay scale.

I am a furloughed CA FO. I would not vote in a union.

Life there was not bad and from what I read here, still is not bad. You guys are spoiled, plain and simple. People are struggling to make their bills and you are whining about pay cuts in a recession unlike this country has EVER seen. Here is an idea, how about pulling your collective, union loving heads out of your asses and breathing? You all sound hypoxic.

IF the company is funneling money out of CA ops to help Cessna, well that is how business works, so what. Cessna owns CA. They have to stay afloat to keep us afloat. Nobody sounds like they are prospering....yet.

I am starting to believe the pro union people are some of the laziest/dumbest Americans in our country.

I am with Bogey. I always hated flying with the pro union types at CA. They were whiney, little bitches.....plain and simple. Let them miss a crew meal, have to get up early for a day that was only a 3 legger and ended by noon, had to work a day of overtime, ect., and you would hear it for the rest of the day.

Spoiled little bitches!!!! Come join the unemployed. THAT is where you belong.

Well if your on Bogeys side I hope we never recall your ass. You obviously didn't get to spend enough time at CA to see the other side of the story. That is Forced OT 16 tours out of 22 in one year, 10 hours min rest all tour long, not enough time to even eat between legs, 2 pay cuts in 2 years, 401K cut in half, disability insurance cut, health insurance cut, and 3 non legit firings currently in litigation, need I go on.

Its pansy ass appeasers such as yourself that have allowed overbearing managers to get away with this crap for to long. For our sakes I hope that hiring picks up so you can take your uninformed self elsewhere, don't need ya buddy...

F&*K Bogey .......he has no clue....go work at home depot when furloughed.....you are one of those go fly for food guys...bringing this industry down

I submit that his actions will probably put the pressure on management to shut down the company. You union people are CLUELESS. We are in a deep recession, guys and gals. Wanna job? Suck it up or give the job to someone else who wants to feed his family. With all due respect.

Can you elaborate a little more about your feelings on this matter?

This is such flame from rcr5. When you come back to the line, if you truly are a line pilot, I just might think your attitude will change. Get ready for the CJ3, glad to have you back. We could use some help. Just remember that bogey is a captain that is comfortable with the best job probably in his/hers career. After you see that your seat lock is extended, your pay is adjusted, and your vacation is manipulated, you might look at the big picture. A union may or may not be the answer, but don't look at it with such said aggravated conviction like you are one in the know.

You are such a little *************************! That really looks rough in light of those on the street just trying to get a check to feed their families you ********************ing loser! YOU and other like you are just what is wrong with CA. The fact the threat of a Union vote is hanging over their heads is the ONLY thing keeping them from firing your stupid ass.

You are a lazy, overpaid, underworked, whiney little bitch and if you were EVER to come out and meet me, I would put you in your place. But I KNOW you are nothing more than a keyboard tough guy.

Unjustified firings...that is a laugher. I spent many days listening to union lemmings like yourself tell me these stories as proof of why CA needs to vote in a union. Virtually every time these stories came up, the lemming was unable to support the story with facts. Go read your union board and come up with more lies to push. You have a CA FO here that will call you out every time on the FACTS!

You are damn lucky they still employ you and I wish you were on the street instead of the good people who are. You represent EVERYTHING that is wrong with CA and there is NOT a lot wrong with them in light of the current economic situation....which idiots like yourself fail to see.

So Meatwhistle, GO $%^& YOURSELF!!!!!!

I would love to meet you someday....but I know you are a coward.

You call what we do at CA, Netjets, or ANY other fractional, work? Are you kidding me? You ARE soft my friend. Were you raised with a silver spoon in your mouth?

You fly great equipment, to great places, staying in great hotels and you do it for HALF the fricken year at most! Oh no, only 10 hours of rest...wow, poor *************************, how do you make it? What am I really missing here? I worked there. I have been there and done that. It is NOT hard.

The company looks like it is trying to stay afloat in hard times....just like Netjets and the rest. They made cuts, so what? You have your job, right? I don't. What are you whining about?

I have found another job, but it made me realize just how good I had it at CA. How about you guys find another job somewhere and leave? Open up slots for those who really want to be at CA and make it a better place; not another company strapped by a union that is run by idiots for idiots.

BTW, do you actually have knowledge of the financial situation within the company? I doubt any of you do. I NEVER saw the company purposely try to screw anyone over. All this bad stuff that gets tossed around is generated by the union idiots trying to get in the door. Just like that letter that went around about safety issues a couple years ago that was proven to be utter bull********************! You guys have no scruples and will lie to your mothers on their death beds if it meant you could profit. GO %&$% yourselves!!!!!

I am sorry that you are furloughed. The pain and frustration you are experiencing is a tough thing to bear and it virtually bleeds out of your posts. I too have been furloughed in my career. It is one of the most difficult and ego busting experiences possible.

The problem I have with your posts is that you are blaming your fellow pilots who still have a job. Not all people who want a union are all "idiots" and "lazy". Your judgmental and fact less statements are proof that you are in pain, which we all understand, but taking it out on others who have nothing to do with your situation, that is another matter altogether.

If you are still furloughed from CA, then you were there just long enough to find the Cessna on the ramp without help. You have not experienced what most others at CA have and you don't have enough company knowledge to judge others this harshly. You also missed the last two years. Things have deteriorated tremendously since you last put on the yellow tie; Maybe still better than most 135 ops, but certainly not what it was just two years ago. A wise person in your shoes would listen up and try to understand his/her fellow pilots a little more before dismissing any and all who want nothing more than to protect themselves and their jobs.

Make no mistake, your point of view is quickly becoming the minority at CA. Something to consider before you come back.

Call me old fashioned but I was taught you save your job by doing your job. I know it is lost on the union folks and you as well, regardless of where you stand. I laugh when I read what you sissys whine about. I just want to reach through the computer and kick your cellulite laden asses!

BTW, you sound like a chick or a fag...haven't determined which yet. If I get really bored, I will look at more of your posts and figure it out. Regardless, it is NOT work at CA. Anyone that thinks they are overworking there is lying. Plain and simple.

Oh yeah, tell me about finding aircraft on ramps oh great one! You are so experienced, preach on an impress the internet crowd. You are a ********************ing tool!

BTW, I could give a ******************** if you got a problem with my posts. I don't respect you so it is meaningless to me.

One more thing for those that are just as bored as I am and decided to read this puke. There are A LOT of GREAT pilots at CA. But that is the problem with internet boards like this. You only get to see the handful of ****************************** bags that work at CA that complain about EVERYTHING, while very few of the great pilots ever post if at all.

So you get the pro union side of the story and nothing else unless someone like myself or someone else who is not sucking the unions nuts, decides to post up.
