CHQ guys, many of us were hoping that you would have done better, to better leverage ourselves. Things didn't go the way we wanted and are we're a little dissapointed.

With that said, what is done is done. Your contract is an improvement and if you are satisfied with it, than good for you.

Hopefully we'll all get over it and move forward and bring this profession with us.

Captjim, on a serious note, what would you have liked to see in our contract. Don't give me the same old pay must be higher BS. We are still the third highest paid regional in the industry. Tell me though, what we should have asked for.

TWAER, I've outlined some things in previous post as to why I'm dissapointed. Pay rates, deadhead, 401k, per diem, the 98.5 ontime for guarantee. I hoped you guys would have gotton better than what we have in our current contract. I know you can't or may not get everything that you want, but I thought you'd get most of it.

Like I said, whats done is done and lets move on.

Sorry guys, but your contract is more like Comair -10%. With the concessions the company (Cmr) wants now , even thought we are making a profit, no one I have spoken to would give these wankers a dime( by the way, who has ever heard of anyone give their salary back to a company that is profitable?). Wait a minute! The CQH pukes are pounding their chests about stopping Republic ? Aren't they starting in Dec ? Oh they're on the CQH seniority list right? So the lucky few who get to transfer will be happy flying the bigger jets but the rest will be stuck in the 145's.Whats the language in the ta about tranfers? The same as Mesa's problably. Ask a 1900 driver how long it would take him to tranfer companies. What happens when CQH goes public and the companies split up? What about shuttle america?Are they on the list?No? Just to answer a few of the above questions and false statements above:

CHQ is IBT not ALPA. In fact CHQ pilots went to ALPA and were turned down as being too small. (I often wonder if they think this was mistake now) To become ALPA, the pilots would need to not be represented for a rather long period of time (something like 6 years) because of bylaws and the IBT and ALPA affliations with AFL-CIO.

Medicals will be filed under insurance and reimbursed at a rate of $70 (outside of network). In network would be fully covered.

Union pushed for pref. bidding and can opt out at anytime if they don't like the program.

Republic bids will be accepted just like a base transfer with seniority rules.

Republic Airways Holdings is going public not Chautauqua. Chautauqua Airlines and Republic Airlines are both units of the company going public. Shuttle America is not part of RAH.

Not too much worry about Shuttle America getting jets because they are losing millions and financing is not available. Shuttle was basically formed to serve out the SF-340 leases. Proving runs would be costly. If they are rolled into RAH then they fall under our scope and pay rules.

CHQ MEC was offered a carbon copy of the Comair contract (including pay) after we voted down the first one. MEC did not offer it to the members because of the QOL issues.

How REPUBLIC and CHAUTAUQUA work; By the Blue Canoe

There is a company. It is called Chautauqua. Can you say Chautauqua. Probably not, but I digress. This man, named Bryan Bedford, he became CEO. Chautauqua is owned by Wexford. You don't have enough cash to invest in Wexford. Wexford is in finance. Do you know what finance is? You do? Great. Wexford wants to make Chautauqua a publicly traded company. Since the minds at Wexford understand that rocket scientists, such as yourselves, can't pronounce or spell Chautauqua, they want a "Catchy" name. "Republic" is the name found upon. (I understand you're lost. It's cool. Re-read it. Take notes and make a diagram. It won't help you understand, but you'll feel smart.) They decide the public can pronounce and spell R-E-P-U-B-L-I-C, so they name the holding company that. We will fast forward now. Grab on to your chairs, this is the mind-blowing part. CHAUTAUQUA and REPUBLIC are both owned by the holding company. The structure is such that no transfers are needed, no flow-thru is required. The only thing is you need to bid equipment and a base. That's it. Incredibly simple.

Unlike wholly-owned subsidiaries, we were able to create one-list for the holding company.

Also, Hugh, SA is not owned by Republic Holdings. I don't know what will happen to your job once the SF3 leases are up.

Captjim, Show me one (1) airline that has increased benefits in regards to insurance and retirement (be it 401(k) or company funded) since 9-11. Heck, all I see on the news is how companies are cutting 401k matches and raising insurance premiums in ALL INDUSTRIES. I sure hope your contract is EVERYTHING YOU want.

CoEx's profit per airplane is nearly 2 times that of CHQs. That being said, the new CoEx contract should reflect this proportionally. Let's look at what those payscales need to be in order to compare apples to apples:

First officer:

Year 1: 42.00
Year 2: 56.50
Year 3: 65.00
Year 4: 67.00

Captain:

Year 1: 102.00
Year 2: 108.00
Year 3: 115.34
Year 4: 118.94
Year 5: 122.58

These numbers are based on our new contract, which you X-jetters seem to think is a failure. Therefore, if you do not achieve pay rates ABOVE these, your contract will also be a proportional failure. You make twice as much per aircraft as us, you should be getting twice as much as us.

Errr, since we are owned directly by Wexford, it's fair to say that they can get the financing if they want it.

IF they want it is another question.

Of course the "millions" we are losing is money that CHQ should be losing instead, but that is an issue that's been beaten to death already.

Maybe it's only wishful thinking, but it seems like an odd business plan that would run a company for three years and then simply dump it when the Saab leases run out.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I do find it interesting, however, how flippantly you dismiss SA as a potential jet operator. Is it a fair guess that you will feel slighted, or at least vaguely annoyed, if we DO get jets on our certificate?

I do not know who you work for, and I really don't care. I work for CHQ and EVERY point you bring up was greatly improved upon.
PAY Deadhead, 401K, per diem, 98.5 completion factor, all improvements. Maybe this is not acceptable at your company but I don't work for your company. We voted on a contract based on improving our last contract, not making you happy. Yes, I wanted better pay, but you know, I can still buy food, drive 3 cars, own a home(and no it is not on wheels), and have enough left over to have fun. And guess what, I get 16 days off this month, home every weekend, very few RON's and my QOL will only get better with the new contract.

Like I said before, some of you have NO credibility. I read the stuff you posted a few months ago about making sure WE stop RP at all cost. I have also had many people in MY jumpseat in the past year who have told me the same thing. DO NOT ALLOW RP TO START UP. Now you say that was no big deal and that we sold out. GET A CLUE! You're right, RP is starting up, but they will have to have CHQ pilots flying their airplanes under OUR rules. WE stopped RP from becoming an alter ego of CHQ. But you know, some of you NOW have a comback for that one. What happens when they sell or buy or whatever? What about transferring between companies? What about the fact that.............well...........hummmmmmmmm.......well you guys are just a bunch of whores.

Oh well, this is my last post on this very hopeless thread. SOME of you will never be happy with OUR contract. Thank GOD you never have to live under it. Just make sure to post your new TA so I can go straight to the comp. section and tell you how disappointed I am. Oh, that's right, you will never vote for that kind of contract. You wouldn't want to be put in the same cat. as CHQ. Hell, they live in MOBILE HOMES and eat out of the dumster.

I didn't like the T/A and I admit it. But you know what? We moved the ball down the field with it. Any way you slice it this T/A is an improvement during a time when concessionary contracts are king.

We didn't take a sack. We didn't kneel in the end zone for a safety. We handed the ball off and picked up 7 yards. We closed the gap on everyone else. That in and of itself gives leverage to anyone negotiating a contract. "CHQ has closed in on us. This isn't right. We want more."

Pull your heads out and face the reality of what has happened here. There are two bars in this industry, the bottom one and the top one. Even if you move the bottom one up that is a victory. We managed to move from the bottom bar to very near the top. We have raised the MEDIAN (average) wage and QOL in the industry with this contract. Others have lowered it.

Get off our backs.

I'm pretty happy here.....

I'll admit I have no idea what life is like at the "best" regional (that name is up to debate) and the "worst" regional on a day to day basis.

Granted it is easy to spin rumors and theories and run your mouth behind a screen name. But looking at things logically, we have a better contract than before. That was the point.

I voted for the contract and I'll admit that to anyone tomorrow and 4 years from now. Sure things aren't perfect but things will improve around here.

As for all you jacka$$es running your mouths, show me YOUR perfect contract that YOU are working under NOW and I'll be happy to retract all of this and bow down to the great and powerful Regional Pilot that you must be.
