Are doing the CFII as an initial? If so don't expect it to be easy.

Also congrats on the avbug love. Ive been around here for a few years and I don't think I've ever seen him show so much attention to one person.

Yup doing the CFII as the initial just heard the failure rate has gone up to 96%. I relally like instruments and it comes much easier to me. So I think it would be a better idea to take it first. Honestly though I'm not going to walk in and set myself up for failure by saying I don't think I'm guna pass when I know can. But when I pass it will be well earned.

If 96% of the CFII applicants are failing, SOMETHING is wrong. Are you saying that only 4% pass at the school you're at? This sounds like either poor instruction, unprepared students or a sadistic examiner. Personally, I would find another program.

No the Chicago FSDO at Dupage has a 96% failure rate. That's across the board from applicants all over the chicagoland area. I thought it was 80% but apparantly its gone up in the last few weeks.

What kind of a time frame is that? If its just the past month, it may have been an especially bad month, but if thats over a longer period I agree with Amish.

What "you're saying." Not what "your saying." It's a contraction, and we use it in the English language.

Then again, there's no much you say that would indicate you understand anything at all, so don't concern yourself too much. You just concentrate on being part of that 96% failure rate for now, okay?

First of all, good luck on the ride. You've put in some work to get there. I have dealt personally with folks from the 'Lakes FSDO, and my god- they were less than pleasant towards ME, and I was not the target of their investigation (I was 1,000 miles away, a CFI/II/MEI minding my own business). Long story, rough outcome, and they were... thorough. The kid they nailed ended up missing JAIL time by the skin of his bank account, and since my name was in his logbook after his alleged (proven) falsehoods, I was under the gun... for no real reason. They can and will find the depth and breadth of your knowlege and skill. I'd bet they'd find your "knack" at instrument flying a bit amusing if your attitude doesn't change drastically. Know thy PTS, lest a deficiency rise up and smite thee (10 points if you know who that bastardized quote is from).


Second of all, drop it. You posted one of the least-classy jabs in this vaunted forum's history, and that is saying something. You took it to a personal level that you just can't justify. It wasn't even directed at me, but I was furious when I read it.

Head down, study hard, learn a little and talk even less. You just might make a career out of flying.

my opinon is that alimbo is not too greak a stick. sorry there chump. you are a garbage talking guy. you admitted to getting kicked out of instrument programs and that your new instructors tell you you fly poorly, but you refuse to acknowledge their judgment and switch cfi's. saw on some other thread you put up atp certificate when you were only a comm sel ifr pilot. why list credentials you dont have. for all we know you are a 14 yr old fsms joystick jockey. lol. i think you are a cocky guy and someone who thinks he knows it all.

loking at your attitude, you seem like a young cocky guy who is insecure and want s to be acepted by the more experienced pilots.

oyu need a an attitude adjustment. you wont go far being confrontational and dishonest. but hey maybe its in yourgenes and you can't help acting this way.
and you need to take some remdial writing classes.

Actually I'm just not guna do it anymore not worth the time. In fact I think I'm just guna finish up my degree and get whatever job I can and build time in other ways. Being a CFI is not what I thought it would be. If I pass my CFII then I will instruct but nothing more than instrument students. The FAA is imposing new rules to screw over CFI's if your student screws up apparantly it takes effect in Feb. So I'm not taking the chance of losing my certificate because of another person making a mistake and quite frankly I know my skill at teaching students other than instruments and its just not worth. Thanks for the input everyone.
