2. Combines the AWA/APA pilot groups to put USAPA out to pasture.

But...who's to say APA combines with AWA...suppose APA combines with USAPA....I don't know,...just asking...APA and USAPA have both gone rogue on ALPA...plus,...they both have a seniority "similarities"...

Parker running airline with 3 pilot contracts and 2 labor groups!! This will be crazy!!!

Oh yeah it will be one ugly mess. However Parker has been very vocal on more industry consolidation, and very clear that he wants to be involved. This deal hss been in the works for over a year now. The delta/us slot swap was a strategic play to reduce amr and usair over lap in lga. This way they wont be forced to give up as many slots during the merger to swa, b6 etc. Shortly after, amr orders a bunch of airbus aircraft (usairs choice of a/c, all 737s will be parked next year). Unprofitable PHX goes away as it is obsolete with a DFW hub, and the last piece of the puzzle just went into action. Reduce labor cost, relax scope and the deals done.

Man...if that deal comes to pass...I can only imagine what the moral will be like amongst East/West and AA guys. I suppose something like...

...a tornado, a hurricane and rabid honey badger walk into a bar..........

I love for months how folks have been so sure AA would buy/merge with B6 and now it's definitely Airways. We won't know for sure till the day the memo comes out.

Just get the popcorn, put your feet up, and get ready for the show!

Just wondering, would AMR pilots staple the LCC pilots like they did to TWA ?

Oh!...that's right, AMR is the one in bankruptcy this time :O

This could be the windfall for the LCC guys

Won't be a windfall for anybody, Heaven forbid this merger should come to pass.

And for the record, I support binding arbitration and unlike some I can live with the result, come what may.

And it's been a land of milk and honey ever since.

Both USAPA and the APA are dysfunctional. The APA's been unable to effectively negotiate in Section six and had to come to ALPA and ask to use ALPA's professional negotiators and E&FA specialist. I appreciate the political courage that took, it was a smart move and an essential move. USAPA has just not performed at all.

APA didn't staple the TWA pilots. If that had been the case I wouldn't have been furloughed with 700 TWA pilots still flying AA metal.

It wasn't pretty for the TWA pilots but saying it was a staple is completely inaccurate.

Why do you think AA ordered Airbus'? To facilitate the merger with LCC.
