Dumbest post I've read in a long time. Most of the really great jobs in aviation are jobs that no one's heard of.Pattern-Master said:...unless you work for a descent major airline, good fortune 500 flight department, or one of the top fractional companies out there(i.e, xojet or netjets),it probably will turn out to be a sh!TTY flying job.
Excellent post.gret said:...Why would you want to jump all over a company that you will list on your resume? It's like dumping on a reference. If they were that bad, why were you working there in the first place?
Ok,maybe about 20 percent of jobs outside of those listed above are good. But let's face it, most part 135 and part 91 flying is pure cr@p, you know It and I know. The scumbag operators outweigh the good operators by a long shot. I have just witnessed to many good people get burned by these kind of shady operators.Dumbest post I've read in a long time. A lot of us are very happy flying under the radar at little privately-held outfits with outstanding QOL, benefits, and pay.
And it's "decent", Descent is what you begin at T.O.D.

Dunno if that's correct or not. I've only flown for three '135 operators in my career, and 2 of them were awesome, and one not too bad, so that's 33% not-too-bad in my tiny life.Pattern-Master said:But let's face it, most part 135 ... flying is pure cr@p, you know It and I know. Two of the most ignorant and misinformed posts I've read in a long, long time. Flying for a smaller corporation or the right private individual is by far the top of this industry. Just because you don't know how to find these cherry jobs, doesn't mean they're not out there. Here's a clue. You'll never read about them on a public jobs website...
Aircraft flown part 91. Has never been airworthy in over 5 years. Will not spend money on mx.
They will tell you they are looking at a G-IV.

What he said ^^AKAAB said:Regardless of where you are looking, you need to do your own research on any 91/135 job offer before you jump in with both feet.

Spoken by the guy who has flown WSCofD, beechjets and KingAirs ... an expert in part 91 operations no doubt.
I disagree. See my earlier post. You just have to pick and choose a little and have some patience. An awful lot of guys raise when they should stay.landlover said:...I think it's fair to say the really good 135(not sure even one exist) & 91 jobs are far and few between.

Dude. They're not ALL good. You don't bet everything you've got on every hand.if you disagree with what i wrote, how could it hurt to raise at all? I know it's splitting hairs but if the odds were in the favor of most 135&91 jobs being "really good" jobs why would one need to be patient and wait for one?

Ok guys, my original response to this post is what I have personally witnessed in my last ten years flying for various part 91/135 companies and 1 regional airline. As of right now I am working for a good part 135 carrier with good pay and actual hard days off every month. I may have come off a little bitter due to the fact that I have had the misfortune of working for some scumbag operators probably like many other pilots on this board. If you are lucky enough to never had to work for a bad company which treats there pilots like sh!t good for you. And bad operators do outweigh the good operators, this is my personal opinion from my past experiences, sorry if you disagree.
