We vote NO on any contract that doesn't come packaged with an SLI. Both sides get to see how their lives are affected in the short term and over the long haul.

So does anyone know for a fact whether the SLI is included with this tentative agreement or is it only being discussed? I keep hearing both....

VOR and others...

No one, save the NCs and the MECs know any of the details in full.

Before we go tilt, we should wait for the facts.

True...when do you guys actually hear something? I know the MEC sees it Thurs, but when does their membership start seeing actual stuff in writing?
(Don't forget to make sure you're PILOTS and not "airmen")

Heyas,

Communications are being prepared for rapid dissemination, including PtP, hotlines, "Just the Facts" (NCs newsletter) and a "merger website".

You will be bombarded with information shortly.

You are kidding, right?

nope, not kidding. I of all people gave everyone the benefit of the doubt. I have tried not to get bent about much with all this since there isnt much I can do about it. I am in full agreement with you though that now is the time to come together and push forward.

The TA doesn't include a SLI just a method to achieve one including expedited arbitration with 3 arbitrators instead of just 1.

Dude

DC???? I am getting 20% put into my 401 now thru our TDC. 9% is a cut for me.

Equity??????? With a combined market cap of 3B, don't go buying that Harley just yet... It won't be much.

Pay raise???????? Those come and go...

SLI???? You think you deserve an advantage?

I would love a pay raise of 40% while I wait to see what benefit this merger brings to the table. I believe not much just something forced on us by investors.

I dunno, if I was a junior NWA guys I'd be happy:
  • Big Pay Raise
  • Longevity bump for time out on furlough
Surely they're not getting a big pay raise on furlough....
So they DO keep longevity on furlough? I heard otherwise....

They will get the percentage increase as well as years of service bump because under our contract the clock keeps running while on furlough.

Does ALPA cover their COBRA or are they just cast out to sea?

Last time we furloughed the DAL membership paid the cobra bill for all that needed it. Thanks again!!

I read something about required 2 month notice of furlough on another airline thread...Is that accurate?

Don’t know
(yeah, I ask a lot of questions, lol)

Well guys goodluck to everyone!! Already looks really ugly from my end of the room.
Wishing you guys the best espercially my Delta brothers. Fight for a fair deal the merger has no guarantee of success career expectations lost can never be regained! Quality of life given up is consumed forever. Our future may become so bleak we have a hard time recognising our past life!!
I hope I am wrong..

Well if Richard said the B787 is a piece of junk than it must be true. This argument from the Delta guys about NWA aircraft are inferior to DAL aircraft never seems to get old. I thought we were beyond this now with the TA?

He didnt say it was a POS..and this attitude towards DAL pilot thinking NWA aircraft are inferior is crap......put an end to that.
Here is what RA said --

Richard addressed the Chief Pilots Thursday, June 19. The following is a summary of his comments.....

(There are many bullets..I only included the 787 ref)

Richard does not like the B787 will be 2 years late and over weight is a huge issue. Might see NWA sue Boeing or cancel order if they fail to get the weight down. Extra weight will destroy fuel saving.
Richard thinks the A330 is an excellent international A/C. Much better than B767. Carries more passengers and cargo and burns same fuel.

In the long term a good deal for both pilot groups. The DC-9 probably has you guys a bit nervous since they are after all retiring. But I think with our new B787 and a enhanced ability to exercise the options on these aircraft, the link between NWA and Delta will be more of a positive than a negative if you're talking merely about staffing. So cheers!!!
I think maybe, FBN, the point is, (or should be) the retirement of YOUR dc-9's SHOULD make YOUR junior pilots nervous, not DAL's junior pilots

This thread is lame.

Nobody "gets" anything.

Two strong airlines ("strong" in a relative sense) are combining. The sum of 1 + 1 will be greater than 2.

If that was not a fact BOTH MEC's would be fighting it tong-and-hook.

Without the impetus of a merger, there would be no LOA 19. Likewise, the NWA group would be looking at a Winter of tough sledding...and no improvements. Both airlines would be furloughing this year.

"Stand-alone" talk is the patter of chumps who need their egos salved. The future is the merger. Period. If you aren't focused on making it work, you're screwing yourself.

If your inner troll has control of your keyboard right now...rage on. The rest of us will shake our heads, and have second thoughts about Darwin being 100% right.
