Wow. Now that's some cheap-ass bullsh&^. If you're upgrading to Captain and are going to be almost doubling your pay, then drop a lousy $70 bucks on a frickin' hat. You guys can come up with some ridiculous excuses for not following uniform policy and tradition.

THIS thread again?

I wear MY hat. It's part of the uniform I agreed to by taking this job.

HOWEVER, I also wear epaulets with 5 stripes on them, cause we Amish do everything you do plus 50%!!

WOW!

the guys who refuse to follow the simple rules, and then complain about it really don't get it. If you don't like a rule, go back to Riddle and get your Aviation management training, come back here and be management. Then you don't have to wear your hat. You can be a stock options and write the rules. How's that? Don't like $19/hr pay, go somewhere else. If all you have to b1tch about is that pissy little hat, life isn't to bad.

............."So I was escorting a Kuwaiti tanker over the gulf in '86, and here comes this dam Iranian gunboat............"

That's something to have concern about, not the hat. Get your priorities straight!

I agree! All you guys whining about professional pilots that choose not to wear hats need to get a life.

:p

Tomct: I don't want to act my age. My dad can beat up your dad. I bet you lose arguments to your 2-year old. And what you say about "utilities" may be true sometimes, but not always.

79%: You never intentionally ignore a company rule, huh? Yeah, right. I'm pretty much just having a good time riling up all you hat facists, but you need to do some serious self-reflection if you actually believe what you write about never intentionally being non-compliant. Sorry. No such pilot exists or ever has. If you can't wrap your head around that, it's possible you're wearing your hat a size or two too small.

And you cowboys that think you can make up your own rules scare the piss out of me.

Well I guess we'll just have to agree to scare the piss out of each other.

We all make up our own rules at least some of the time. Some are just willing to admit it.

Where does it say in the FOM that slip on shoes are verboten? It specifies plain toed shoes, but I don't remember a requirement that there be shoelaces.
