ASA furloughs 80 pilots

Couldn't have put it better myself.. I have less than zero confidence in the bunch running DAL nowadays. The fact that Steinland is on the board just makes me want to puke all over God's green Earth!

I feel for these guys I really do but to be honest with you I have tons of my own bills to pay for my family. I have cut my 401K back quit the ESSP and struggling in other ways. $50 a month is a lot to me and maybe others. I like your thought but I have to take care of my family first.

How about you don't go out to eat one or two nights, now you have 50 bucks to give, and you don't look like an ass!

I will personally take a very dim view of anyone picking up open time with Acey guys/gals out on the street. I dunno if this might be a ProStandards issue, or, one of simple common sense, but NO open time. Don't do it. On this subject, it is not just a matter of business; the folks out on the street are pilots. No one will take care of pilots but pilots.


With regards to the company, I don't see how they could have handled it any better. It sucks, but realistically, how could this have been handled any better? Credit where credit is due.

not that I disagree with the open time argument but if you feel it was handled as well as it could have been, why the problem with others picking up open time? seems a little contradictory

The fact that somebody at ASA sitting in the left seat saying they can't afford 50 bucks a month is rediculous. No one is required to help out anyone, but if you won't, don't show the world how cheap you are by saying you can't afford $50.00.
