Have fun throwing gear for me.
I make 163 as a 12 yr captain. We agreed to a less than stellar TA to bridge this SWA-AAI deal (last TA turned down had 180 at top pay rate). Our retirement is 10.5% w/no match necessary. 18 days off, blah blah blah. That doesnt seem like 50-100% windfall.
Of course your rate, QOL, etc. is better. but lets not bend the facts here!
On Sept. 27th we lost our negotiating power. The ball was in mgmt's court, so yes it was a less than stellar contract! The FO's got a larger raise(much deserved),and my group ended up with a $8 raise. whooopi, Life goes on!
I would assume nearly every pilots career expectations on both sides just changed! (except the senior guys). I do get that you make more money. But at the end of the day, were not in charge. Chances are a neutral party will figure this whole thing out, and we can move on.
I am not on here to bicker and whine guys, of course this is good for us. It will be good for everybody( I hope), eventually.

It is not just the pilot's and F/As that don't want this it is the mechanics as well. So that is 3 of the biggest unions at SWA that has major concerns about this acquisition. The flight attendants at 10,000 strong are now and I quote "are beginning to freak out" about this integration. These two SWA groups DO NOT want this integration.
pilots over there at SWA aren't giving us Airtran pilots anything. Nothing. Zip. Zilch. Nada.
Thankfully your laughable claim to "speak for" the pilots at SWA is far from the case and in the end the grown ups will hash this out.
Hey Snoop D O Double G you and the other pilots over there at SWA aren't giving us Airtran pilots anything. Nothing. Zip. Zilch. Nada.
Help me understand then oh wise and benevolent one.You are clueless if you think our pilots are not giving you anything.
Man, ain't that the truth! I don't claim to speak for anyone but myself. . . . Some of the SWA guys on here are even claiming to speak for the mechanics now. . .
Help me understand then oh wise and benevolent one.
Our pilot group does have the power to not include you in our contract. And our scope language keeps Southwest from code sharing with your airline.
Ponder that.
If you believe what you have written, you don't understand the process. Whatever, buddy. It's not my job to educate you.
See you on the other side, and we can resume this conversation then.
Yes, the AAI guys are getting the better deal, but not if we get staple
Wrong again Dogg. Reread my post. It was directed specifically at you and I stand by my comments. As for what my response inflames, maybe you should take a good look in the mirror about the tone of your statements before you lecture me about stirring the pot.We are like spoiled children, we are not deserving of respect or understanding, and our claims laughable that us children will have the grownups hash it out....
These responses absolutely further inflames a dicey situation.....
Help me understand then oh wise and benevolent one.
Oh wise one, you are soooooo misinformed. There is absolutely NO requirement to have you on a SWAPA seniority list.
It would not be the end of the world. I'm doing fine.Cool.
Keep your contract then.
