YHGTBSM, I've seen the cockpit of a 73 maybe 10 times in my life and they are wasting training time on showing me how to pack my bags? (Must be for the military guys.) Next you're going to tell me they spend a whole day on TCAS, and another day on radar, and another day on ground prox, oh, don't forget bidding, and filling out health care forms with the wife. It could be worse, I could be over seas in the military but since I'm not, wasting time away from the family without positive space home to visit at least once in 8 weeks is hard to get excited about.

Grow up. Good thing I've been online and the VAST majority of air tran pilots are more than happy to be here and real cool. The problem is your expectations. You complain to me and I will be first in line to tell you that I got absolutely nothing out of this deal except diluted seniority. Argue that all you want, but it's true. And I'm over it. So if my junior FO group is over it, you guys can really sh^t the f^ck up about not being slotted in next to pilots who've flown here for a decade before your airline flew it's first flight.

I went from 32% to 66%. Prob won't make Captain again. Forgive me If I don't wanna join the SWAPA cheerleaders.

I wish I could claim the opposite gain of 66% up to 32%! But unfortunately nobody can. You got bought by a carrier FIVE times your size. To think you would keep something close to relative seniority is not based in reality. Sorry.

It's na?ve to even begin to think SWAPA or any SWA pilot had a desire to harm any AT pilots. It's called business, we either pull together now that it's "done", or we get rolled over from here to eternity by management.

Freightdog's opinion is not at all uncommon among the disenfranchised AirTran pilots, myself included. You can't piss all over a select group and expect any allegiance whatsoever.

To expect even a bit of locality at this point would be ridiculous.

Not asking for allegiance or loyalty, only to act in your own best interest.

What seems to be so inexplicably lost is the fact that all our fates are irrevocably intertwined at this point.

By all means feel free to be upset, peeved, or pitch a tantrum for all I care, the only thing I ask is when it comes time to cast a ballot you look out for your own best interest which in turn will be looking out for mine whether any of us likes it or not.

Well, there's been at least 5 Trannies that got fired while IN training. Couldn't make it through the FO program. Now 5 isn't a large number, but still a head scratcher.

5 guys? 5 out of 1000 on a study on your own, learn the 737 via apps you've bought off iTunes and an AOM that tells you NOTHING about systems? I'd think that's an amazing accomplishment. This is hardly an FO program. You're getting a full type sitting in the left and right seat for portions of your ride...minus the 2-3 weeks of systems (CBT's) you get in OAL type programs. Not to mention, the days of "what's your favorite limitation?" are over. Most type orals lately are 2 hours plus per person. Southwest has one of the worst training programs for people that know nothing about a 737, yet 99.9 percent have made it through.

I wish you could too. But you did gain something. All SW pilots did. And as much as wavey likes to claim he got nuttin outta this deal, he did. More seniority, plain and simple. I keep hearing on here that "GK's not done yet" on acquiring another carrier. I doubt the next group's gonna want to sit down and eat pizza after watching the way this went down. My .02 cents anyways
