Need to be very careful. Skywest is lurking behind the contract door and waiting for the call. They've already negotiated to fly for Midwest and you can bet AirTran has spoken with them about future possibilities.
I hope everyone will look at Delta and see that a 70 seat RJ can and will take your job. Let's make em' all AirTran pilots.

Giant turd

From everything I have been hearing this TA looks and smells like a giant turd. Get ready to call all your people and try and explain to the clueless ones you fly with the attributes of this agreement. If it is as bad as I have been hearing we need a solid 95% no vote.

The Midwest MEC and some union officers will meet with the NPA later this week. Some of these guys are experts with contract negotiations, I hope they can help the NPA Board in anyway they can.

Again, good luck guys.

Sometimes what is needed is a fresh perspective; an outside mind that can see and explain in a non-confrontational way. If this is the purpose of their visit, I hope they are very successful in their endeavors.

However, if this is the beginning of an attempt to bring ALPA on property by showing how much more educated their people are in the process, how much more experience they have, and the bottomless coffers of support staff, experts, lawyers, etc, etc to draw upon, then I'd say please don't come. This is the wrong time for you to be here.

ALPA here on property at AAI? Maybe. Some day. AFTER a new contract. AFTER the merger. AFTER the integration of seniority.

Until then, I'd prefer to deal with our own problems in-house for now, and I hope I'm not alone in that sentiment.

Are there any details pertaining to their agenda?

ALPA has been on property for quite some time. ALPA's retired Director of Representation has been working right alongside the NPA negotiators for the past two years to assist them in negotiations. The NPA also has a significant Services Agreement with ALPA to provide many important services (I can't remember which services they've bought, but I'd suspect some legal and E & FA at the very least).

However, I seriously doubt that Captain Schnedorf or anyone else from the Midwest MEC is coming down to ATL just to assist with the TA. If he's coming down, then it's probably merger related.

P.S. I do agree that now is the wrong time to think about merging the NPA into ALPA. From what I've heard from Herndon, there's no intention of trying that, though.

No, I also don't think its purpose is to push Alpa's agenda, the ALPA note I read can also be interpreted as a conference call between them so don't know if they will actually even meet in ATL.

If they do meet I hope they bend Schendorf and Scotty over and spank them good for supporting MEH against the merger...A codeshare with NWest? That's a vital part of the "super secret" long term plan? What a joke! How is that going to help our pilot group grow? If the "long term strategic plan" is so good than why not announce it and let the shareholders decide? Afraid to let the competition know? Well, now the competition is our code share partner so they'll no our fares, flights, and plans for the future (if there really are any).

Good to hear, thanks for the info!

Day 1 of "T.A. Watch", and no communications one way or the other.

Wonder how long before they say something? Anybody want to start a pool? :)
