No worries. I've been watching this food fight from the peanut gallery and decided I couldn't bite my tongue any longer. I don't care what airline you work for for, we all need to respect each other as fellow airline pilots rather than the inane concept that the paint job on the side of your airplane somehow makes you superior to someone else. I have nothing but respect for SWA and they have done a good job at the type of service they do. I've met plenty of SWA folks that are stand up people, just as much as any other airline. I really do appreciate their pro employee culture and respect the fact that their employees are supportative of the place that puts food on their table.
But..... listening to the SWA folks on here they are starting to sound a little over the top in the self centered department The concept that any of them would see AT having labor difficulties as an opportunity for them is pretty sad. SWA and AirTran are two similar LCC airlines, just like DAL and NWA were two similar legacies. Of course their are differences, but by and large I expect that's what an arbitrator would think and not be wearing SWA colored glasses when you merge.

Fair enough even if I don't agree with you!. My take about these boards is you really can't judge anyone by their posts. If we all met in person it would be a whole different dynamic.

Well you are right, and has been made infinitely clear here, I'm on the outside looking in, but... it seems to me you are playing with the SWA culture here. Screw this up and the ramifications could be huge. Mergers fail more often than they succeed. Look at USAir. Piedmont and USAir were arguably stronger airlines than SWA/AirTran are now and USAir/AWA......well enough said.
This may go OK or it could be the beginning of your downfall.

This is what this form is supposed to be, fun and informational. Until people realize that they are a number they can't control, you will put ten years back on your life.

The funny thing is that this group, despite their threats and votes, will not nor would have gone on strike. The MEC silenced the SPSC and continually delayed opening the strike ops center. Further, they were heading toward a timeline for release, cooling off, and strike, that would have surely resulted in a firm NO from the NMB.

Also, a group ready to shut an airline down does not do all the little things the AT pilots on this forum pride themselves in. Pilots who are ready to shut it down don't push early, don't fly anything that isn't 100% perfect, don't accept shortcuts, certainly don't single-engine taxi, etc. This is precisely why AT mgmt was so unconcerned with the strike vote.

Oh, one more thing. I think AT still has about 50 guys on line(and a training dept full) who have proven once already how they feel about striking.
