Scope erosion started long before bankruptcy and certainly wasn't "forced" then (in the 1980s) either. In fact, mainline pilots willingly agreed not to have to fly "those little airplanes" in exchange for, you guessed it, more money. My experience both in this industry and in life is that the more things change, the more they stay the same, but I could be wrong...

My hopes (which you keep referring to as if they were relevant) are with wide-body aircraft with tail numbers starting with A6- or A7-, not with 100-seaters (or anything else) with tail numbers ending in CA.
