In the past 10 years I've had...
No auto accidents,
No damage to my apratment or car,
No emergency room visits,
LOTS of issues with company management
ALMOST an FAA legal issue (luckily the controller didn't report the issue)
Guess which of the above I have insurance for?
Not that I would be sorry to see ALPA here, but I can't help pointing out how American this process became: They couldn't get what they wanted through a fair vote, so they use the legal system to go through the back door and impose their will. How Democratic of them.
We have very few overnights, and I think the kinks have been worked out for those cities that have scheduled overnights. The problem comes when it isn't a regularly scheduled overnight (TDY/weather or mech. cx).
Scheduling is so far behind in requesting a hotel room (they don't request it...
You should be able to smile, cry, pout, weep and even be afraid without worry that you are going to set off well-trained personnel.
Since when has TSA been well-trained at anything?
Read the bold print ...
When assigning airspeeds, use the followingrecommended minima:
.....
2. If a pilot is unable to comply with the speed assignment, the pilot will advise.
b. When an operational advantage will be realized, speeds lower than the recommended minima may be applied.
ROC is reserve for the second half of DEC just like BUF always is for the ends NOV and DEC - they don't run those flights over the holidays because they are commuter flights. If there aren't bids for January, that might indicate a base closure.
Heard a rumor tonight SYR was gaining another...
I never said it was about me alone, but unfortunatly, I don't think it is ethical for me to speak about other people's motives and beliefs. In responding to the issue posted, I can only use my own experiences, decisions, and thoughts to respond. I can not speak for the pilot group at large...
I don't want to go to a major because they have a union, it doesn't even factor in to my decision of where to go. If it were that important to me, I'd be at a unionized regional. Honestly, to me, it doesn't really matter.
If I had a problem working at Colgan or felt that I needed protecting...
Well, I've seen no major changes so far at Colgan. Scheduling has been a little more helpful and we have a few overnights now. 2 Bases have closed, 1 opened.
That story about shifting hubs from PIT is talking about the EAS flying and dropping the non-EAS service.
This has absolutely nothing to do with new flying for Colgan, only changing where our EAS service goes (leading rumor is for IAD as United).
Most likely is IAD - although they have been trying to get JHW/BFD to IAD for 1 1/2 yrs with no success.
Other possibility is CLE. Its a long shot, but if CAL is willing to take the flights (as it was with Regions Air), it could happen.
Little off topic, but i thought to vote was shy by 4.
Assuming a flat 50% or more was needed (i don't know what would have happened in a tie), we should be thanking the 159 who voted no.
A vote of 151-155 would have been a loss by 2 votes (or 3 if over 50% and not 50% or greater was...
