Hah. Well i'm pretty sure his top reasons for not wanting a CFI/II/MEI etc is
1.$
2.Lazy
oh well. all i can do is be a good friend and try and steer him the right way.
Those are very good points, and illustrated very colorfully. Even though, according to all the part 61 bs we were taught, it seems like he CAN log it PIC, your right, he is not acting as PIC, and calling the shots, (diversion, IFR approaches, fuel loads, int'l paperwork, etc.) So, in the...
Got a buddy in a situation, and I told him Id get some other opinions on his deal. So let the debate begin.
Situation. Assuiming commercial-multi w/high performance/high altitude endorsements. Can he log PIC time in a Navajo and a King Air 200 on empty legs (Part 91) after dropping pax off on...
Wow. Glad I left ABE. I wonder if I ever would have gotten the HPN base I wanted that they said I could have in the interview. Oh well. No, I dont wonder. I'm happier where I am.
Okay you have it on the spikey hair and iPods, (not me personally, of course) but I must say, I have seen PLENTY of Delta F/O's with backpacks.. Just a side note.
For a relevant post....when I started at Colgan a year and a half ago, average age of the 20 something new hire's was 29. Oldest being 42 and youngest being umm...myself. At SkyWest I'm not sure because it went by SS # not DOB but I would estimate high 20's to low 30's as the avg age. 25...
I got an e-mail from Mesa AND American Eagle today. I never applied to either, and dont know how they got my e-mail address. Either they paid off airlineapps.com for info or went to aviation colleges to buy e-mails of pilots......
I donno about the VLJ 300 Hr wonders. Just because they are small jets doesn't mean they will settle for a commercial multi. I was on the Day Jet website and they require some serious time. 3000 TT and 500 PIC Jet if I recall. I dont qualify yet. Who knows. It will be interesting to see if...
Its pretty damn junior right now, especially MKE. I dont know what the point of asking who is the most junior captain anyways. By the time you get there, it will be different, higher, lower, we dont know. So, someone said it best. "Choose an airline you like and stick with it."
I hope no one that see's that picture gets excited. If you do, you do not see the whole picture. The more of these "little-big planes" that are around, the less chance we have of ever moving on to a major. Personally, I would have much rather flown a B-1900, Saab-340 or EMB-120 for 3-4 years...
Just to give you an idea of what life is like as a junior ORD FO.
-1st month. Reserve SLC. 10 days off (standard) Flew close to 75 hours and got paid for over 100. Didn't sit on my butt ONE day at the craspad on reserve.
-2nd month. Reserve ORD. 10 days off (standard) Credit is already up...
Hey man. I interviewed a while ago, this past summer. Mine came about 4-5 days after the interview if I remember correctly in a fatty FedEx envelope. Id say give it 2 weeks than call. If you're up to 10 days the game isn't over, wait another 4 days then call and see what the story is...
You think LGA is cold? I grew up 20 minutes away from there. I just got based in ORD about a week ago. Since i've been here I havn't seen the temp above 22, except for last night which was 30 (wierd). Avg temp at night is about 8-10F. Lets not forget my 3/4 mile walk to the EL (Train to ORD) at...
Hey Billy,
Its too hot for a damn penguin to be walkin around here.....
But anyways, back to reality. Not totally sure about the CASS thing, but I did jumpseat on them back in late June of '06, with my previous airline that was not CASS. I did London to IAD. (USAir to get over to...
Anyone remember that awesome BOS-CDG video that had a link to the youtube website? It was made by an AA 767-200 FO on a flight from Boston to Paris? It is no longer up on youtube for whatever reason.
I was hoping someone had a hard copy of it on their computer, and if they wouldn't mind...
Looking for an e-mail address of a pilot, I jumpseated on his flight from SLC-JFK.
He gave me his card and said to call him, and i'm not sure if on the Delta Airlines pilot biz cards, the number listed is a company phone number, or personal contact?
Either way, I was hoping that a DAL pilot...
