FCC Station License
As far as I know it is required anytime you fly internationally. Therefore all the airlines who do any such flying usually require that as a prerequisite. It is nothing more than sending in an application along with the money. I found a great link yesterday- go to majors....look on the 25th...- bigsky

ATA to get N7 B752s
Just wondering if ATA has announced what it has recieved for an AMC contract award for fiscal year 2004? I think awards were released last week. -

Known Ice
Ice is slightly hard to predict 100%. It is even possible for 1 airplane, lets say a jet, to fly through some weather and not pick up any icing and at the same time a light aircraft fly through same area and pick up severe icing. Flaps Up?
I agree about saying it so much you hear it in your sleep.. Normally I would reccommend retracting flaps although there are some light twins that climb as well if not better with 10 degrees flaps. Your climb performance in most is so marginal so if you are able to do better with a notch of...- bigsky

V1, Vr and V2 question
If my memory serves me correctly(maybe does-maybe doesnt) but the DC-10 in Chicago had the whole engine rip off the wings at the pylon-- destroying and retracting some of the slats when it went... that I believe is the main reason they lost it when they pitched up to V2. I do agree the king air is not a good airplane to discuss v1 as it doesnt apply 100%. And just because you are at v1 it doesnt mean you couldnt stop on ry available. I am sure on a 10000 foot ry you could climb to 50 feet and land and then takeoff again also. HOWEVER in that case you are not...- bigsky

Overnight Bags
I just bought myself a new 27 inch purdy neat for Christmas.. Overall am very pleased with it although it looks a lot tougher than it is. Unfortunately I have to commercial quite a bit and the metal frame bends very easily when you check it and they pile a bunch of bags on top. Same thing...- bigsky

World Airways
it really depends as Anchorage is a big stopping place for much of Pacific. The majority is cargo although sometimes pax( mostly military charters). The md-11 does mostly Korea, Japan, Hawaii, Australia, ect... from west coast.. usually SEA, or LAX.. However if using a DC-10 will probably go... -

time away varies, however most bidlines are set up with about 15 days away from home per month... As for reserve, it can vary greatly...seems once they get you out on the road you often get extended..they tend to use the people who are most convenient while someone at home may never get called... -

PHX Commuters - Parking?
I leave my car at Executive parking on 24th street. (south of Washington street close to infamous waffle house) they have an employee rate of 3.25 per day.( it was 3 and they recently raised it may be 3.50). Have always had speedy service to and from my car!- bigsky

80 x 12 = 960 per year. 217000 divided by 960 = 226 per hour? sounds high unless they get a helluva perdiem check. ( but honestly I dont know what they get) -
