SWA eyes DAL gates @ DFW

25 years or age 50. Add two more to your estimate. And the only way to maximize that retirement is to stay to age 57. AND your wife wears the pants...:p

Opportunity to fly light aircraft in South America

No waste of time if I helped you from killing yourself. It may sound harsh, but it is no place for a non-latino with 200 flight hours. And there are many stories...heck just look at American Airlines and what happened to them going into Cali. No help from ATC... good luck...

Opportunity to fly light aircraft in South America

Plan on filing an ICAO flight plan for every flight, whether you are vfr or not. Positive control wherever ATC exists. You will need to wear a uniform, speak the language, and carry lots of cash. Into and out of the airport through security and ATC offices for filing and paying fees takes...

Opportunity to fly light aircraft in South America

So, you are a new young pilot, and someone offers an oppotunity to fly around in the Colombian neighborhood, for his business contacts? This smells bad to me, not to mention that the weather will probabaly get you before the FARC does. Sounds like you might be flying cocaine. Not a place for...

Opportunity to fly light aircraft in South America

For specific answers you must ask specific questions. What you ask is too vague. What government, what aircraft, and what country? And spare us the "secrecy" crap, it's been discussed on this board for years by some of us that have been there already.

Thanks FracCapt SatPak77, Sudden good fortune for me. Part time work flying same machine you are (reference above question), and a few helicopters. Fourth year pay at the day job. Life is good.

Question about type rating application form

It has been awhile since I have been required to sign off a student on an 8710 form. I have been asked to train someone on an aircraft requiring a type rating, to get only the type rating. (I have the PTS) In the first section of the form with all the blocks, what does one enter for a type...

    SWA RJ's?

You need to put this rumor to rest for now. Last official word was it would be studied if/when the EMB190 can match the 737 operating cost, which have yet to be determined.

    Currency signoff question

    Thank you, Mark.

    Currency signoff question

I fly jets for a living and get signed off in the sim every year. I haven't flown a helicopter for a couple of years. Does my recurrent training in airplanes keep me legal to fly a helicopter, assuming I get the takeoff and landings? Do I need a signoff of some sort? I just can't...

    Need help with a name

Huey Stearman Champ Baron Rudder CAVU Taildragger Turbine/Turbo Axl I could think of more, but if you are going to a reputable GSD breeder that follows the breed rules, then the first letter of the dogs name should be the same as all from his litter.

    Career dilemma- need opinions

A Sad Request, What to Do?

I had to do it a few years back. I would tell you to do this: Place ashes in a small paper bag. Take a piece of good strong duct tape and put it on one side of the bag, and attach a string. Hold the string, throw the bag. Once the string goes taught, bag rips open.
