I fly jets for a living and get signed off in the sim every year. I haven't flown a helicopter for a couple of years. Does my recurrent training in airplanes keep me legal to fly a helicopter, assuming I get the takeoff and landings? Do I need a signoff of some sort? I just can't remember...Thanks.

You're probably good to go. The 61.56 flight review requirement is not category or class specific. All it requires is that it be accomplished "in an aircraft for which that pilot is rated" not =each= aircraft for which that pilot is rated. Assuming your annual sign-off is one that either includes a flight review endorsement or meets one of the substitutes (most likely 61.56(d)), you're covered.
